ParkSide Apartments

ParkSide Apartments is made up of two 19th-century buildings, with a central garden area connecting the two. The gardens are lush, creating a calm green atmosphere in the outside common areas. The hallways are plain white with tiled floors and each room has an individual name, like Daisy, Onyx, and Oscar. A large circular glass display cabinet is set into the floor on the central landing which includes a collection of different bottles of displayed wine. The breakfast area is charming, with a small indoor section featuring a large world map and framed artwork on the wall, along with a few tables and chairs in the outside garden. Due to its central location, guests here are a combination of tourists and business travelers. The self-catering apartments also appeal to family and long-term travelers.

ParkSide Apartments is set on a fairly quiet and mostly residential street in Krakow. It's just across from Planty Park, the large green park that surrounds Old Town. There isn't too much in the way of dining and shopping in the immediate vicinity, though the huge shopping mall Galeria Krakowska is just nine minutes on foot from the hotel. It's about a nine-minute walk to the Main Market Square, with the famous St. Mary's Basilica and Town Hall Tower as well as several museums, curio shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars. Other nearby attractions include the Old Jewish Quarter (six-minute drive) and Wawel Royal Castle (seven-minute drive). ICE Krakow Congress Center is a 15-minute drive across the Vistula River. The Krakow Glowny bus and train station is a nine-minute walk from the hotel. John Paul II Krakow-Balice International Airport is a 30-minute drive from the hotel.

The 29 apartment-style rooms at ParkSide Apartments are modern and fresh. Each of the apartments have a similar look and feel with wooden floors and lightly-colored furnishings. Each differs slightly in terms of artwork on the walls and the style of lounge furniture. The Daisy Room, for instance has a full wall covered in wallpaper of a Krakow night scene photograph while most of the other apartments have more elegant and understated decor.

Each apartment has a lounge, dining area, fully-equipped kitchenette, and either an outdoor terrace with a garden or balcony. Kitchenettes include refrigerators, microwaves, burners, tea- and coffee-making facilities, cookware, and utensils. Additional amenities in all rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, iron and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi. Luxury Apartments have a hot tub and sauna, which are housed in a separate room in the apartment. The free bottle of wine in each room upon arrival is a nice perk. Bathrooms include walk-in showers with hairdryers and Baylis & Harding toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in the higher category apartments. Note that the Double Rooms are quite cramped, with the kitchenette areas directly next to the beds.

Don't expect much in terms of additional features at ParkSide Apartments. As the apartments have kitchenettes, there is little in the way of dining facilities here, though breakfast buffet with hot and cold items is available for an additional fee. Management are available to assist with tour bookings as well as airport transfers (for a fee). There is an underground garage for an additional fee. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
