With black marble floors, red painted walls, and wicker furniture, the lobby of the Rubimar is in stark contrast to the more nautically inspired guest room decor. The lobby is small and not designed for lingering, but it does have a concierge to assist with guest needs. Guests, many of whom are vacationing families, tend to congregate at the large outdoor pool that's surrounded by lounge chairs.

Centrally located a two-minute walk from the picturesque marina, the Rubimar is a good choice for families who want easy access to restaurants and shopping, and don't mind being a 10-minute walk away from the nearest beach. The hotel is close to the action of town, but it's located on a quiet road, so there's little risk of street noise making its way to guest rooms. The Arrecife Airport is about 30 minutes away by car.

The Rubimar has one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments available, the largest of which can sleep up to six adults and two kids. Units are clean and spacious, and decorated in blues and whites reflective of the property's seaside location, but the overall style is generic and bland. All units feature separate living areas with flat-screen TVs and sleeper sofas, as well as kitchens equipped with kettles, microwaves, toasters, and refrigerators. Bathrooms have both showers and bathtubs and come with hairdryers.

The family-friendly Rubimar has a an enormous outdoor pool with a whirlpool at its center and a heated indoor pool, both of which open late and close early. Lounge chairs and parasols are free for guest use, but there is a fee to rent pool towels. There's also a kids' club and a playground as well as a buffet restaurant for guests opting for all-inclusive packages. Other on-site activities include tennis courts, Internet terminals, and bike rentals -- there's even a resident bicycle mechanic. The property's large fitness center has extensive cardio equipment and weight machines as well as a sauna and a whirlpool hot tub.
