Seccy Hotel Boutique

A mid-range boutique hotel that attracts travelers seeking proximity to Rome's Fiumicino Airport, the Seccy occupies a three-story building with a covered entrance flanked by marble columns. Interiors are simple, yet elegant and inviting, and common spaces are clad in soft, warm hues. Cream colors dominate in the lobby, which offers seating and opens onto a brightly illuminated spiral staircase that leads up to guest rooms. Simple furnishings are juxtaposed with classic Roman pieces like marble columns, statues and figures, and gilt-framed paintings adorning the walls throughout. With just 36 rooms, the atmosphere is intimate and quiet, and it's suitable for tourists and business travelers alike -- but features are limited. Almost all guests here are airport bound, either departing or arriving in the city, and stay for a short time. 

The hotel is located in Fiumicino's center, a coastal town that's about a 45-minute drive from Rome. It's situated on a quiet street, but there are lots of restaurants (especially seafood restaurants lining the river), bars, cafes, and shops within a five-minute walk of the property. There's a beach within a 15-minute walk. Most guests choose this hotel due to its proximity to the Leonardo da Vinci airport, which is about a 10-minute drive away. Ciampino Airport can be reached in a half-hour. Nearby attractions include the ancient city ruins of Ostia Antica, which are about a 15-minute drive away. Farther afield, Rome's top attractions, like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and the Vatican, are a 35- to 45-minute drive away.

The hotel offers a variety of rooms including Singles, Triples, and Quadruple Rooms. The spaces are clean and inviting, decked out in warm colors like creamy yellow hues that are paired with terra-cotta tile floors and wooden furniture. White bedding is topped with patterned bed runners and accent pillows. All rooms have desks as well as 32-inch flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, mini-fridges, telephones, electronic safes, air-conditioning/heating, and free Wi-Fi, but they lack tea- and coffee-making facilities. Bathrooms are clean and pleasant, covered in cream-colored tiling. They're equipped with showers, bidets, heated towel racks, and wall-mounted hairdryers -- but fixtures could use an update. Slippers and a selection of toiletries are provided. Most rooms have pleasant neighborhood views.

A paid hourly shuttle service is available to the airport, and guests can also book airport pick-up services for a fee. Free parking is available, but it's limited.
