Aparthotel Porto Drach

This modern hotel showcases beautiful views of the marina, which sets the tone for a stay here. The style is minimalist, with shades of white, tan, and chocolate brown found throughout the property, alongside an abundance of simple, clean lines. The lobby area is small, but has a couple of sofas and chairs where guests can hang out. Wine, beer, soft drinks, and bottled water are for sale by the reception desk. Otherwise, communal areas are limited to the pool and buffet restaurant -- there's no lounge or proper bar for socializing. Rooms are situated in the main building and an annex. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, and the views of the marina make for a treat in many rooms. Guests are mostly couples and families on vacation, and it's a popular hotel for tour groups as well.

This hotel overlooks the Port de Manacor and is a two-minute walk from the beach and four minutes on foot from the famed Caves of Drach. Porto Cristo's town center can be reached in 10 minutes on foot, or five minutes by car. Public transportation, taxis, shops, restaurants, bars, and a supermarket are all within a five- to 10-minute walk as well (though the majority of these options are across the marina). Plan on about an hour to reach Palma de Mallorca Airport by car, or two hours on public transportation. 

This hotel offers studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, all with fully equipped kitchens. The one- and two-bedroom units features separate living rooms with sofa beds. All are reasonably modern and bright, with white tile flooring, white walls, white bed linens accented with brown runners and pillows, and tan drapery. Decoration is minimal, bordering on spartan, with just a single piece of modern art. Kitchens are all white as well, and include refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, sinks, and coffeemakers, plus dishes, cookware, and cutlery. Other amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and safes (fee). Modern tiled bathrooms are spacious and come with towel warmers, hairdryers, toiletries, and bidets. Some units have furnished balconies with gorgeous views of the marina. 

Features aren't too numerous here, but the hotel adds some extras that make it a nice step up from many basic apartment-style properties on Majorca. Soma Restaurant serves buffets for breakfast and dinner, and packages are available that include meals. Breakfast consists of hot and cold selections. The space is bright and sunny, with wood floors and a floral-wallpapered accent wall. A few tables are available for alfresco dining, and one has direct views of the water. The hotel lacks a bar to kick back with fellow travelers, but it has a nice wine cellar to accompany meals. The long, rectangular outdoor pool is suitable for swimming laps, although it's not the most picturesque place. Lounge chairs topped by umbrellas are lined up on the deck at each end. The marina is adjacent, mostly hidden by a fence. The lovely sand beach -- which is a two-minute walk away -- offers lounge chairs shaded by straw umbrellas for a fee. A tiny desk in the lobby has a computer and printer for guests to use. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. On-site parking is available for a fee that varies with the season.
