THB Sa Coma Platja

Largely renovated in 2016-17, the Aparthotel THB Sa Coma Platja is a sleek and modern place, with a stylish white-and-blue color scheme found throughout. The lobby and adjacent bar's neutral-tone seating amid white surrounds from floors to ceiling are a pleasant spot for poor-weather days, but typically, most guests will be outside at the beach or large freeform pool. A smaller, shallow pool and mini-club make this a particularly family-friendly spot, though the all-inclusive rates also attract couples. The hotel’s restaurants are far less elegant than the rooms, outfitted with simple furnishings and little in the way of decor. Still, this is an excellent pick for leisure travelers seeking a beachfront getaway. 

The Aparthotel THB Sa Coma Platja is ideally located for those looking to top up their tan at the beach, as the hotel is just across the road from the golden sands of Platja de Sa Coma. That said, there’s not much else in town, as Sa Coma is given over largely to hotels, and the place all but shuts down over low season. There is a supermarket a 10-minute walk away, or three minutes by car, as is the Protur Natura Farm, which has a fun petting zoo and rare animals on display, while the Safari Zoo wildlife park is a 12-minute drive away. Expect transfers to Palma Majorca Airport to take roughly an hour by car.

Renovated in 2017, the hotel’s 154 rooms are all spacious, fresh, and bright. They follow a similar stylish design as the lobby, with light-wood floors, headboards, and accent walls livened up by splashes of blue in bed runners, throw pillows, sofa beds, drapes, and beach photography. All have sliding glass doors that open to long, furnished balconies or terraces with aquamarine panels -- many of which have views over the pool and ocean in the distance. Junior Suites have bedrooms with either a double bed or two twins, flat-screen TVs, and large closets, as well as separate lounge spaces with sofa beds. Also in these areas are mini-fridges, microwaves, and kettles. Bathrooms are clean and modern, with dark slate tiles and shower/tub combos. Unfortunately, guests in lower-level rooms complain of noise from a nearby pub. Safes, hairdryers, toiletries, and free Wi-Fi come standard.

Dated Apartments with kitchenettes and dining tables are also available for up to three people.

The Aparthotel THB Sa Coma Platja has a lengthy list of features, starting with a good all-inclusive package that covers free local alcohol and soft drinks, three international meals at the well-reviewed buffet restaurant, and snacks at the pool bar. An a la carte restaurant serving Italian fare is also available. Both the lobby and pool bars offer light snacks and an array of beverages. Visitors are just a minute's walk from the pretty beach, where sun loungers and thatched umbrellas can be rented. Otherwise, guests can get some sun at the pool terrace housing a large freeform swimming pool and separate kiddy pool. There is regular entertainment put on for adults and kids, and a colorful children’s club runs throughout the day during high season. On the downside, the hotel doesn’t have a gym or a spa. There is fast and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
