Wi-Fi, and concierge services, and while there is parking, it incurs a daily fee. This hotel is currently undergoing renovations and is expected to also have a restaurant, bar, and an outdoor pool by late 2015. For those with a bit more money to spend check rates at The Surfcomber Hotel, it has a pool and beach access.

Budget hotel with dated exterior and pleasant interiors, undergoing renovations
As of mid-2015, the San Juan Hotel -- which attracts mostly budget travelers, including plenty of families -- is
undergoing renovations. The cream-colored exterior, complete with a bright red neon sign, gives this older property a dated look, but the interiors are much more modern. The bright, updated lobby has a
beach chic theme with modern sea-life artwork, chandeliers, wood tables, blue padded chairs, and
mostly neutral tones. The bar area features a contemporary brass chandelier overhead
with wood and brass chairs while the front desk has a curved gray tile design
and recessed lighting. Hallways are well lit, with map-themed artwork on the gray walls and striped carpet on the
floors.

Exceptional location in South Beach, walking distance from local attractions
The San Juan Hotel has a wonderfully central location in South Beach, with restaurants, the beach, and lots of shops within short walking distance. Lincoln Road, Miami City Ballet, Anchor Shops, and the Miami
Beach Convention Center are also within a 10-minute walk, as are the New World Symphony Park,
The Fillmore Miami, and the New World Center. The Port of Miami is an 11-minute
drive from the hotel, while the Miami International Airport is 18-minutes away.

At the time of Oyster's visit, the San Juan Hotel was undergoing renovations. All rooms have air-conditioning and come with safes, beach towels, and bathrobes. Remodeled units have a contemporary feel, with beach-themed prints on the tan walls, striped gray carpeting, blue accent cushions propped on pillow-top mattresses, and gray leather
headboards with brass detailing. Modern lighting
and large windows help to make the space bright. Each room comes with a wall-mounted flat-screen TV hung over a brown-and-white wooden desk with a cabinet containing a mini-fridge. Beautiful tan tile bathrooms have lovely walk-in
showers, modern vessel sinks, and hairdryers. However, while the bathrooms are the most pleasant in-room feature, they could do with a bit more counter space.
