A relaxed mid-range resort aimed mainly at families, this beachfront property is a decidedly average choice in Myrtle Beach. The hotel has seen better times; interiors show wear and tear and are dated, while decor is standard chain-like fare. Nevertheless, it's a fine pick for those on a budget and offers a good value. The outdoor pools overlook the beach beyond and include a fun kids' pool with a pirate boat. Guests tend to spend most of their time at the pools or on the beach, so it can get busy and packed. The atmosphere is relaxed and guests here are mostly vacationing families with kids.

The hotel is right on the beach, in an area that's home to many other hotels lining Ocean Boulevard. It's a busy street, but a convenient location that's within a five-minute walk of some chain dining options (like IHOP and Denny's) and just a five-minute drive to Myrtle Beach International Airport. Myrtle Beach is continually ranked as one of America's best family beach destinations, and besides the beach, there are several kid-friendly attractions nearby. Family Kingdom Amusement Park can be reached on foot in eight minute and the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is a five-minute drive away. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade is a 15-minute walk from the hotel and stretches a bit over a mile along the coast. Broadway at the Beach, an entertainment center with dining, shopping, and live shows, is a 10-minute drive away.

Rooms, like the rest of the property, are dated and show wear and tear. Decor is lackluster, with turquoise and peachy walls combined with light beige-colored furniture and unattractive striped bedspreads. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Suites have separate living rooms with seating and dining areas as well as kitchenettes with stoves/ovens, toasters, microwaves, coffeemakers, refrigerators, and basic cookware and dinnerware. Bathrooms are also in need of updates. They're equipped with shower/tub combos, wall-mounted hairdryers, and limited toiletries. Some bathrooms have exterior sink vanities. All rooms have glass sliding doors that open onto private balconies, some of which have ocean views -- but some face an interior courtyard. Note that many guests have complained of cleanliness issues at this resort. 

Features are mostly focused on entertaining kids. The hotel has several pools, including three outdoor options -- one of which is a kids' pool with a pirate boat and other play features. The pool decks are lined with striped loungers and overlook the beach beyond, and there's a poolside bar serving drinks and snacks. There's also an indoor pool with hot tubs and a lazy river feature, plus there's a seasonal outdoor lazy river.The hotel offers several other fun features, including a large entertainment center with a 20-lane bowling alley and a game room with pool tables and arcade games. There's also a bar here that serves drinks and casual fare like burgers and pizza. Other dining options at the hotel include a seasonal beach shack with burgers and seafood. Buffet-style breakfast (for a fee) is available in the ninth-floor dining room and includes made-to-order omelettes. Other amenities include a fitness room with a variety of machines (though it's a bit small in size), as well as laundry facilities. Wi-Fi is free throughout. Parking is charged extra per day, which is common for the area.
