Coral Beach Resort & Suites has a jovial, upbeat atmosphere that accurately reflects the type of guests they cater to: families. From the outside, the resort is comprised of three bulky buildings that interconnect on the beachfront property. Many areas of the hotel take advantage of the beach and ocean views, such as the modern Oceans 6 Bar & Lounge, oceanfront pools, and outdoor restaurant. The lobby isn’t large, which can be a drawback during the high season when check-in and check-out lines are long and there’s only a few wicker chairs to sit in. It features a small pond and hanging chandelier that seeks to add some class to the plain tiled floors. Guests will find a lot of beach or ocean-themed artwork throughout, as well as colorful spaces in the kid-friendly areas like the entertainment zone which is filled with arcades, games, and a bowling alley. Keep in mind that cash isn’t king here and that the resort only takes debit or credit cards throughout the property.

Coral Beach Resort & Suites has a desirable beachfront location in Myrtle Beach, about a 15-minute walk from Family Kingdom Amusement Park and five to 10 minutes from dining options. For shopping, the Market Common, Coastal Grand Mall, and Broadway on the Beach take 10 minutes to reach by car. There are two Tanger Outlet locations within easy driving distance of the resort: the Highway 17 location is a 25-minute drive and the Highway 17 location is a 15-minute drive from the resort. The closest golf course is a four-minute drive away. The hotel lacks an airport shuttle but it’s only an eight-minute drive from the hotel.

Features range depending on the room, though all have flat-screen TVs, furnished balconies, coffeemakers, free Wi-Fi, and safes. Oceanview Queen and King Rooms include microwaves, mini-fridges, and partial ocean views. The Efficiency and Suites feature full kitchens with refrigerators, stove tops, microwaves, sinks, ovens, silverware, and pots and pans. Rooms touted as Oceanfront have full ocean views, while most of the remaining rooms have partial ocean views. Bathrooms tend to be the same throughout: simple, with shower/tub combos, toiletries, and hairdryers. Take note that many guests have complained about cleanliness issues in rooms and maintenance problems such as doors not shutting properly.

Amenities at Coral Beach Resort & Suites center around families. The hotel has a beachfront location on Myrtle Beach, and beach chairs are rented through the city only. Access to the sand is nice, but it’s the water features on the property that are the most popular. The hotel offers indoor heated and outdoor pools and hot tubs, a lazy river, and a small water park for younger kids that includes splash buckets, spray tubes, and a sunken pirate ship. As for indoor entertainment for families, there’s an eight-lane bowling alley, an arcade, games like ping-pong and pool, and an indoor playground with play tunnels, all of which is serviced by a snack and ice cream bar.

Healthy-minded adults can enjoy a fitness center that has a selection of cardio and weight equipment and free weights. As for dining options, guests can start with coffee from the coffee shop or a hot breakfast buffet of biscuits and gravy, grits, eggs, and bacon (for a fee). There’s an outdoor casual restaurant serving American finger food meals, as well as an upscale indoor lounge with a tapas-style menu. The resort shop sells souvenirs, beach-friendly items, snacks, and drinks. Wi-Fi is free throughout and there’s a business center. Guests receive a free parking space in the hotel’s garage.
