Bottom Line

Wyndham Vacation Resorts Towers on the Grove is a mostly generic mid-range option right on a quiet stretch of North Myrtle Beach. Its 232 suites are individually owned time-share apartments, and can include multiple bedrooms, laundry facilities, full kitchens, and ocean views. They can also include maintenance and cleanliness problems. There's no restaurant or breakfast served, so guests either use their kitchens or walk five minutes to a cluster of seafood restaurants and a grocery store. The beach is the main draw, but guests also enjoy the covered outdoor pool and a seasonal lazy river and waterslide. Wi-Fi and parking are both free. Past guests have complained about aggressive time-share pitches. For something with breakfast buffet and a restaurant, check rates at Crown Reef Beach Resort and Waterpark

Wyndham Vacation Resorts Towers on the Grove

Scene

Beach towers with time-share condos

From the outside, Wyndham Vacation Resorts has a retro vibe with soaring white exteriors accented with Art Deco architectural details. There is no seating in the reception area of the lobby, which should give you some indication that guests are only there to check-in and check-out -- that, or to rent a DVD from the kiosk. The resort is made up of time-share condos, and past guests have reported pesky time-share presentations and aggressive reps. Otherwise, guests (a mixture of families and groups) tend to stick to their condos, the pools, or the beach. Since there isn't a restaurant or bar, there's little socializing.

Covered pool, seasonal lazy river, beach access, and free parking

Features are focused on the outdoors. There's a covered pool and large whirlpool that are open year round, and they're located just behind the seasonal lazy river with a waterfall feature.
