Embassy Suites Charlotte - Concord Golf Resort & Spa is well-suited to business travelers and a convenient
place to hold a convention. The upper-middle-range hotel has loads of event space, a restaurant and bar, and a cafe. Guests won’t have to go
far for activity or entertainment, with a golf course, spa, fitness center, and indoor pool
on-site, and close proximity to the motor speedway and Concord Mills
Mall. There's free breakfast with cooked-to-order items, but it can get busy. The 308 rooms are spacious, with living rooms and two flat-screen TVs. However, for such a
business-oriented hotel, the Wi-Fi fee is a nuisance.
Scene
Large, chain hotel hosting multiple organizations at a time
Embassy Suites
Charlotte - Concord Golf Resort & Spa is large, 11-story building with the chain's typical clay- and cream-colored cement facade. Inside is a grand atrium, where the round fountain feature positioned under the skylight is
the focal point of the room. Exotic plants add some greenery, while TVs lend entertainment. A gigantic staircase, carpeted in red, leads up to the first level of rooms. The hotel is a popular place to host large meetings,
and sometimes multiple groups are staying at the hotel and using the meeting
rooms. With so many guests, the breakfast area can be a busy place in the
mornings, and vacationing families and couples may feel a bit out of place. The outdoor area is pretty and spacious, with a tall stone fireplace and white gazebo, along with extra-large barbecue grills, and dark wicker couches with bright orange cushions. This patio area is part of the on-site restaurant/bar, Rocky River Grille, which extends indoors to a red-carpeted room with dark wood and red leather furnishings.
Location
Near the motor speedway and a large mall
The hotel is a two-minute drive or 15-minute walk from Charlotte Motor
Speedway, and a five-minute drive from Z-Max Dragway. There are plenty of casual restaurants within a five-minute drive, along with other hotels. It's about a five-minute drive to the Concord Mills Mall,
which has a movie theater. The location is within a 30-minute drive of
Charlotte and the airport.
Rooms
Classic, spacious rooms with microwaves and mini-fridges
Rooms at the hotel are spacious with classic decor in autumnal and neutral colors, including patterned
carpeting, floor-length drapes, and wooden furnishings. All rooms are One- or Two-Bedroom Suites, and all have convenient
kitchenette areas with sinks, coffee/tea facilities, microwaves, and
mini-fridges. Seating areas have maroon love seats and chairs, and each room also has two flat-screen TVs, and a desk with ergonomic chair. Bathrooms have large mirrors, Giovanni toiletries, and
shower/tub combinations. Premium Suites have digital music players and free Wi-Fi, as well as access to refreshment centers with snacks and drinks. Wi-Fi is for an extra fee in other room types. Some rooms have balconies, and rooms on higher floors may have golf course or speedway views -- they're also farther from the atrium area, so tend to be quieter.
Features
Free breakfast, golf course, and indoor pool
The
hotel provides a free breakfast with cooked-to-order and buffet items. There’s
also a free manager’s reception in the atrium every evening, including two drinks per guest.
There is a restaurant on-site focusing on steaks and Carolina-inspired cuisine, and the
bar has seasonal outdoor seating. The cafe serves snacks, pastries, and Starbucks
coffee, and has a small market attached with souvenirs for sale. The hotel
has an 18-hole golf course designed by Dan Maples, and a fitness center with treadmills,
elliptical machines, a weight machine, and hand weights. The spa offers health and beauty treatments, and the hotel also has an indoor pool and whirlpool. Over 42,000
square feet of flexible meeting space, including a large ballroom, is available
for private events, and the hotel's event-planning staff is well-reviewed by guests. Free parking is available.
