Bed & Breakfast Bouchardon

Situated on the fourth floor of a six-story, 19th century apartment building, this bed-and-breakfast is a two-bedroom apartment comprised of one guest room, a living room, the breakfast room and kitchen, and the owners' room. Run by a friendly,
professional, and super-accommodating couple who live on site, the tourists who flock here determine how much interaction to have with their hosts and privacy is never an issue, though the guest room is only suited for couples
or solo travelers. Accessed by a small glass elevator or narrow wooden
staircase, the apartment is bright and modern with original wood
floors throughout, lavender-colored walls in the breakfast room, and a living room lined with bookshelves that includes a contemporary white couch, armchairs, and a fireplace.

Situated on a quiet street, this north-central slice of Paris (in the 10th Arrondissement) is full of cafes, restaurants, theaters, and shops, including the bakeries just downstairs. Le Marais, one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the city, is 10 to 15 minutes away on foot depending on the destination, and the scenic St. Martin Canal (backdrop for the film _Amelie _and home to plenty of artsy, chic, and lively destinations) is a 10-minute walk from the bed-and-breakfast. For guests who want to leisurely stroll through Paris, the Louvre and Notre Dame take about 30 minutes to reach, though there are three metro stations within a five-minute walk of the property and trips to either destination will take just over 20 minutes. Left Bank sights like the Eiffel Tower and Musee d'Orsay take 35 and 25 minutes, respectively, to reach by metro and RER trains, while the Gare du Nord Train Station is less than 10 minutes away metro. The slightly quirky Gourmet Chocolate Museum and sprawling Place de la
Republique are a 10-minute walk in opposite directions from here. Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airports are both 35 to 45 minutes away by car or taxi depending on traffic, though they can be reached by metro and trains in under an hour.

The single guest room here is unquestionably small (112 square feet, or 11 square meters), but the room is comfortable, impeccably modern, and
beautifully decorated with vintage black-and-white Parisian photographs, inset shelves
with trinkets, and gorgeous original hardwood floors. Sober brown tones run throughout, from the walls and sconces to throw pillows and striped drapes, while two vintage green chairs with curving hardwood arms sit next to a floor-to-ceiling window. The double bed is comfortable, with high quality linens, and the room includes a
mounted flat-screen TV, a coffee/tea kettle, an iPod dock with speakers, a closet, and free Wi-Fi. The clean, tiled en-suite bathroom is tiny, with a narrow glass-enclosed stand-up shower, a heated towel rack, and toiletries. 

Geared toward couples and solo travelers who want to
experience Parisian living in a real apartment, the bed-and-breakfast offers exquisite free breakfasts that change a bit from day to day and include fresh fruit, croissants, cereals, coffee, and occasionally egg dishes. The owners -- who are extremely helpful and friendly -- go out of their way to accommodate dietary restrictions as well. There
is free Wi-Fi and a computer is available for guest use in the living room. There is only on-street parking for guests with cars and spots are not easy to find, and guests should also note that three-night minimum stays are required.
