This two-pearl property has limited public space and simple but contemporary decor incorporating light woods and leather furniture. Rooms are snug with double or single beds, TVs with satellite channels, room service from off-site restaurants, Yves Rocher toiletries, and triple-glazed windows to soundproof street-facing rooms. Breakfast, dry cleaning, and parking cost extra, but Wi-Fi, umbrellas, and newspapers are free. Rooms at the nearby Hotel Chopin are typically even cheaper, but they're also more basic and old-fashioned.
Scene
A contemporary spot with a convenient location, but not much public space
The Hotel France Albion is a small but contemporary hotel with a great location. The only common space is the teensy reception are and the stone-ceiling breakfast room, and rooms are small, making the hotel best-suited to travelers who will spend their days off the premises. It's a clean, reliable, and affordable option, and guests will be hard-pressed to find better value in this area. The tight quarters mean that families may not be happy here; couples and solo travelers on a budget are more prevalent and a better fit.
Location
The 9th Arrondissement location draws culture, architecture, and history lovers.
Hotel France Albion has a convenient location in Paris' 9th Arrondissement, on the city's Right Bank. This area is known for its architecture, history, and culture. Opera fans can check out the home of the Paris Opera at the Palais Garnier, art lovers can reach the famous Montmartre area, and shoppers can shop 'til they drop at the Galeries Lafayette -- all within a 10- to 20-minute walk from the hotel. This area has a nice selection of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The airport is within a 30-minute drive from the hotel and there the Saint-Georges metro stop is just a two-minute walk away.
Rooms
Small and contemporary (if basic) rooms with triple-glazed windows
All 35 rooms at the Hotel France Albion are non-smoking and decorated in the same basic but contemporary fashion, with walls painted a light color (such as light blue, gray, or off-white), floor-to-ceiling curtains that coordinate with the bedding, and leather and wood furniture. The small rooms benefit from the natural light from the large windows. Rooms facing the street have triple-glazed windows to help cut the street noise, while rooms next to the elevator can be noisy. Some guests can hear water running through the walls. All rooms come with mini-fridges or minibars (the latter in Twin, Superior, and Courtyard Rooms), and standard (slightly grubby) white-tile bathrooms with Yves Rocher toiletries, hairdryers, either a shower or shower/tub combo. The hotel's PRM/Double Courtyard Rooms have a bit more space in them thanks to Murphy-style beds that fold up against the wall, and come with slightly more stylish bathrooms.

You can also order a continental version to your room (up until midday). The hotel has a few basic services available to guests, such as a 24-hour reception desk with concierge services, external room service (where guests can order food from outside the hotel), a small business corner in the lobby that consists of one computer, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
