Individually decorated rooms are colorful and stylish, though small, with trendy decor and modern bathrooms that include rainfall showers sprinkled with LED lights as well as Missoni toiletries. Scene
Funky and whimsical boutique hotel
The Hotel Georgette is a charming boutique property with trendy and colorful interiors, where guests are greeted with Champagne upon arrival. Though there aren't many common areas in this small hotel, a tiny atrium-like space in the lobby offers seating on a massive turquoise sofa and two white leather tub chairs. Large windows overlooking the street give an opportunity for Parisian people-watching. Windows also fill the adjoining interior dining room with sunlight, brightening the all-white space where breakfast is served in the morning. Small tables on a rustic wood floor are lined up against a banquette topped with a strip of mirrored glass. Colorful Pop art pieces on the walls and a fun golden light fixture add whimsy to the room. Gray-hued hallways feature hot pink room numbers affixed to doors, lending the hotel the feel of a nightclub. The property mainly attracts couples touring the city, who are drawn by the convenient location and trendy interiors of this boutique hotel.
Location
In the hipster enclave of the Beaubourg District, close to the metro
Just to the western edge of the Marais in the 3rd Arrondissement is the Beaubourg District, once a working-class haunt that housed Les Halles, the wholesale meat market now in far flung Rungis. There remains an edgy air to the neighborhood, and its bars, nightclubs, and restaurants follow suit. The hotel is conveniently located a minute's walk from a metro station and a six-minute walk from a RER station, giving easy access around the city. The Centre Pompidou, where modern art and film is presented, is a five-minute walk from the hotel, while the Picasso Museum can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot. An interesting spot to peruse is the Musee de la Chasse and de la Nature (a six-minute walk), sure to enchant Wes Anderson fans with its collection of delicate taxidermy. Notre Dame Cathedral is about a 15-minute walk away from here. Other attractions can be reached in about 20 to 30 minutes via public transportation, including the Louvre, Luxembourg Gardens, Champs Elysees, Sacre Coeur Basilica, Musee d'Orsay, and the Arc de Triomphe. The Eiffel Tower can be reached in about 45 minutes by public transportation, or 15 minutes by car. Charles de Gaulle Airport is about a 30- to 40-minute drive, while Orly Airport is 20 to 30 minutes away by car.
Rooms
Small, stylish rooms with trendy decor and sleek, modern bathrooms
Psychedelic wall coverings are part of the decor in some of the rooms at the Hotel Georgette, reflecting the property's Pop Art sensibility, though in some rooms, particularly on the top floor, restraint is shown with neutral hues. One of the cute and colorful rooms we saw had a bubble gum pink ceiling, red pendant lights, red-and-pink patterned wallpaper, and a vibrant Missoni throw on the bed. Another top-floor room features subdued neutral hues, two big skylights that fill the space with natural light, and a jetted soaking tub next to the bed. Rustic wood on the floors and taupe tiles add a touch of elegance. All of the rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, tea- and coffee-making facilities (Nespresso machines in Deluxe Rooms), black-out drapes, and safes. Bathrooms are ultra modern with LED lights sprinkled on the ceiling and within the shiny black tiles of the walk-in rainfall showers. The fixtures and fittings are pared down and modern, while toilets are in a separate room. Best of all, toiletries are Missoni brand, packaged in the signature stripes of the vibrant fashion house.
