Perched on a 90-foot cliff overlooking the ocean, Shore Cliff Hotel is a mid-range hotel with large rooms, all with ocean views. There are also a large outdoor pool and whirlpool, which offer beautiful views. A continental breakfast is included in the room rate, but there’s no restaurant or bar on-site. White Adirondack chairs sit on the grassy lawn lining the edge of the bluff, offering gorgeous views of the surf and beach. From a large gazebo, guests can view the rocky formations jutting straight up out of the ocean.The pool area is modern, with wooden lounge chairs with colorful cushions in greens and blues -- with a windowed fence allowing for spectacular view. The lobby has soaring windows, and clusters of classy, plush chairs. Breakfast is served in a pretty room with light blue walls, high ceilings, and tile floors. The property underwent renovations from 2016-2017, which brought contemporary upgrades to the front desk, facade, and hotel sign, as well as pretty new landscaping (and a bocce ball court) on the back lawn leading down to the ocean cliff.

Shore Cliff Hotel sits on the bluff between Pismo Beach and the mountains. It’s conveniently located off Highway 101. The area is quiet, and there are a few other hotels in the immediate vicinity as well as a restaurant within walking distance. There’s no direct beach access from the hotel, but the beach is within a short walk. It’s less than a five-minute drive to Pismo Pier, where people come to fish, surf, or simply admire the pretty views.
