Hotel Residence Retezova

Classic and quaint, the Hotel Residence Retezova is composed of individual apartments with hotel-style amenities and few common areas. The lobby has historic, low-vaulted ceilings, stone floors, and striped chairs in a cozy and bright atmosphere while the exterior is peachy pink with traditional Czech design. Wood staircases line the hallways, as do neutral tones, and there are arches and flowers throughout. This hotel is great for large families due to the privacy and good amount of room space, but it also works for business travelers because of the excellent central location. Overall the atmosphere is private and welcoming. 

The Hotel Residence Retezova is located on a quiet, cobbled street in Old Town surrounded by restaurants, public transportation, and shops. The Charles Bridge, Church of St. Giles, Clementinum-Prague National Library, and Astronomical Clock are just a few of the sights within walking distance and the main Prague shopping area is also under a 15-minute walk from the hotel. A rental car is only necessary if you plan on leaving the city.

Each apartment at this hotel has its own individual style and there are many different layouts available. There are studios for singles and two-bedroom options for families; all have a pleasant and rustic design. Peachy bedspreads and headboards with matching tasseled curtains are in some rooms while others have antique patterned green and tan bedspreads. Classic art hangs on the walls and there are plush vintage chairs and sofas providing extra seating. Light tile or wood floors are covered with detailed rugs and the wood furniture looks historic and traditional in the space.

Kitchenettes with microwaves, fridges with minibar goodies, coffee/tea items, stovetops, and ovens are in all rooms and some have lovely courtyards or balconies with seating. Small flat-screen TVs hang in the bedrooms and there are DVD/CD players with music and movies by request. Some rooms have beautiful 14th century vaulted ceilings while others have 17th century wood beams. Bathrooms are covered in tan tile with flowy curtains over the windows and white sinks attached to the wall. There are small shelves off the mirrors, but other than that, no counter space. Some bathrooms only have showers, but all have heated towel racks and Keiji amenities.

Both the front desk and concierge services are 24-hours and there is a business center with a striped chair and a PC at a white desk in the lobby. A breakfast is included with some rooms and served at the Cafe Ebel next door; it receives wonderful reviews. No on-site fitness center or parking are available, and transportation services around town and to the airport cost extra. The hotel is pet-friendly, but only dogs are allowed, and there is free Wi-Fi throughout. Additionally, with advanced notice, guests can receive a late checkout for free.
