Scene
Scandinavian-style hotel with eclectic interiors
Alda Hotel Reykjavik is a centrally located city hotel with modern Scandinavian-style interiors. Guests are welcomed into the small lobby with dark tiled floors and a standard reception desk. The lobby then leads into a more welcoming lounge space with wooden floors and eclectic collection of wonderfully curated mismatched furniture and decor -- like only the Scandinavians can do. On the other side is a funky modern barber, with white and red mosaic windows, red and gold stars hanging from the roof, modern bare light-bulb lights, and traditional leather barber chairs. The Barber Cafe is yet another unique space with a slightly more industrial vibe, including exposed ceiling, large windows looking out onto the street, combination of cafe-style and more formal-style seating, and central bar with low hanging light fittings. The atmosphere here is fun and relaxed. Guests are mostly made up of leisure travelers (particularly those wanting to shop), and a few business travelers passing through.
