Casa Primavera Hotel Boutique and Spa

Hotel Casa Primavera is housed in an old whitewashed building with characterful historic details like a bright courtyard, big stone columns, and exposed wood-beam ceilings. The lobby is decorated in a traditional colonial style, with warm tones and antique wooden furniture, while the patio provides a cozy place to relax sounds a trickling fountain and glass roof that lets in plenty of natural light. The outdoor pool is a great place to kick back, lined with blue padded sun loungers that are ready-made for tanning. The restaurant is warm and welcoming, featuring a fireplace that's lovely on cold nights. Opened in 2010, Casa Primavera has a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere that's popular with tourists and occasional business travelers. 

This hotel is located outside of San Miguel de Allende's historic city center. The setting is quiet -- just off the highway to Queretaro, and back from the busy main road. There's little to do in the immediate area, so most guests will head into the city or hang out and use the facilities at the hotel during the day. Main sights and attractions can be reached in around a 10 minutes by car or by the free shuttle service that runs every hour. There are plenty of attractions within the town center, including the famous Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel, the buzzing zocalo, Parque Juarez, and the Historical Museum of San Miguel de Allende. The hotel is about one hour away from Guanajuato by car, while Guanajuato International Airport is around a 90-minute drive, depending on traffic.

Like the rest of the hotel, rooms and suites are decorated in a traditional Mexican style with warm tones and rustic furniture. Whitewashed walls add some brightness, while balconies provide lovely views of the grounds or outdoor swimming area. We love the intricately patterned tiled floors, artfully arranged knickknacks, and the damask prints that are used to bold effect. Most rooms and suites include cozy gas fireplaces and comfortable seating areas with antique-style chairs. In-room amenities are generous and include flat-screen TVs with cable channels, empty mini-fridges, tea- and coffee-making facilities, safes, phones, alarm clocks, free Wi-Fi, and robes and slippers. Each room has a ceiling fan, but no air-conditioning. Bathrooms are clean and simply decorated, equipped with walk-in showers, spacious marble-effect countertops, and free premium bath products. Due to the hotel's quiet location, guests report a good night's sleep.

The facilities at Hotel Casa Primavera are geared toward relaxation, and there are a surprising number of features for a hotel of its size. Not too common in San Miguel, the hotel has a small outdoor pool with sun loungers for tanning, and a separate terrace that includes a hot tub. The tranquil full-service spa offers a range of massage and beauty treatments, as well as a sauna and steam room. A restaurant serves Mexican fusion cuisine in a relaxed setting, plus a varied breakfast with options like chilaquiles. It costs extra, but only gets mixed reviews from guests. There's also a wine cellar and a bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Room service is available during limited hours. The 24-hour business center has a computer station and several stylish meeting spaces. Laundry and luggage storage can be arranged with the front desk, which is staffed around the clock. Free self-parking, free Wi-Fi, and a free shuttle service to the historic city center are all provided. The shuttle runs every hour, but return service isn't provided.
