A lovely hotel with quiet spaces and hospitable owners
Santellini Boutique Hotel is best suited to couples due to its comfortable rooms, lovely surroundings, and convenient location. The hotel is in a pedestrian mall, built over and behind the shops, featuring classic Greek whitewashed buildings with blue trim. The main gathering areas of the hotel are centered around a lovely, secluded pool and adjacent bar. Guests rave about the hospitable owners, the homemade goods served at breakfast, and the homey atmosphere.
Location
Convenient access to Kamari Beach, but far from Santorini’s famous caldera views
Santellini Boutique Hotel is in the town of Kamari, on the southeastern side of the island. It is located on a pedestrianized road popular with tourists for its shops and proximity to the beach. Just outside the hotel entrance there are clothing stores, a car rental agency, and a small spa. The beach is a one-minute walk away, and the hotel provides beach towels for a fee. The road along the beach offers pedestrians many more shops, in addition to bars, restaurants, and a supermarket.
Less than a minute's walk from the hotel there is a free parking lot -- it is open to the public, so spots are not guaranteed. Just around the corner from the lot there is a public bus stop. From the hotel, it is a 15-minute drive to Fira, where there are museums, restaurants to suit a variety of tastes, and magnificent sunset views over the caldera. Santorini Airport is a 10-minute drive from the hotel and the port is 21 minutes away.
Rooms
Comfortable, stylish rooms with balconies, mini-fridges, and rainfall showerheads
Standard rooms are small but appealing and comfortable with two twin-size beds or a double, plus nightstands, a small desk, and a closet with a mirrored sliding door. Most walls are white, but a funky, striped accent wall defines the color scheme of the room, be it pink and purple, bright blues, or gray with light blue. Windows are double glazed to keep rooms quiet and insulated. Every room has a balcony or terrace overlooking either the pool or the street and its shops. All also come with 32-inch flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, ironing boards (upon request), and safes for a nominal fee. Triple rooms add a twin bed, and Maisonettes are two stories with a double bed in the loft and a sofa bed that sleeps two downstairs. Straightforward, small bathrooms have a wood countertop and glass-door shower stall with rainfall showerhead. A hairdryer and free soap and shampoo are provided.
