Scene

A lovely, charm-filled hotel on a farm with incredible views

The Murgia family has been cattle-breeding, sheep-breeding, and organic farming for 40 years, and it also runs a lovely boutique hotel beside its agricultural endeavors. The place, the embodiment of a Mediterranean countryside fantasy, is elegant and well cared for. It’s peaceful and quiet, with large, green spaces, rolling hills, mountains in the background, and a blossoming flower garden. The building itself is peach-colored and curvaceous, with big windows adorned with pots of colorful flowers. Even the bright blue-tiled staircases are wrapped in flowers. There’s a small lobby with comfy white chairs, a little library, and fish swimming in a tank. The rooftop terrace comes with views of the surrounding countryside.

Location

A bucolic setting, five minutes from beaches and the town of Posada

The hotel Maria Caderina Green Village sits on gently rolling hills, beside an old farmhouse, set against a landscape of pastures and fields. The hotel is about a five-minute drive from the historic town of Posada and its ancient castle, the Castello della Fava. The ocean beaches of Su Tiriarzu, Orvile, and San Giovanni are a five- to 10-minute drive from the hotel. It’s difficult to get around without a car, though.

Rooms

Airy, spacious rooms with private balconies, minibars, and free Wi-Fi

Brightly colored, cheerful, spacious rooms have a laid-back, casual, country Mediterranean feel, with joyful patterns on headboards, bedspreads, and cushions, and high ceilings. They are simple, and each room has a private balcony. The first floor rooms overlook the gorgeous (but occasionally noisy) piazza. From most rooms, windows look out over the sweeping mountain landscape. There are minibars and small flat-screen TVs, but no Wi-Fi, which is available only in the public areas. Bathrooms have bright, jaunty tiles, and an abundance of toiletries.

Features

A fitness center, farm, outdoor pool, and restaurant that draws from the farm

The fitness center is equipped with exercise bikes, treadmills, elliptical machines, weights, bars, benches, and a vibrating machine for squats. Winding pedestrian paths guide guests from the hotel to the lovely swimming pool, surrounded by lounge chairs and olive trees, and a soccer field. A few minutes' stroll away is the hotel’s family-owned farm, where cows, sheep, pigs, and geese roam on picturesque green pastures. The restaurant's focus is traditional Sardinian cuisine, and much of the fresh, organic, seasonal ingredients come straight from the family farm. Vegetarian dishes are available. A gorgeous roof terrace is lighted by candles at night. An event/meeting space can accommodate up to 150 people.
