Bottom Line

A solid mid-range property in the Sedona suburbs, Sedona Real Inn and Suites is an excellent choice for travelers who want a quiet place to stay within walking distance of a few local shops. It offers a lot for dog owners, including special pet rooms with tile floors, a dog walking/play area, and free snacks for canine guests. There is a nice outdoor pool with neat landscaping and views of the mountains in the distance. While the hotel serves a hot breakfast every morning, there's no restaurant on-site; guests fond of room service and on-site dining might be better off at the nearby Poco Diablo Resort.

Scene

Cozy Southwestern hotel that's popular with vacationers

The hotel doesn't have much to offer business travelers, and most of its guests are couples or families vacationing in the area. The property comprises a series of two-story stucco buildings with arches and columns, trimmed with shruberry. The lobby and breakfast room are contemporary with polished tile floors and wood accents. There's a station with free coffee, a concierge desk, and a section with tables and chairs where breakfast is served. A cozy, semi-enclosed sitting area with a fireplace adds to the comfortable atmosphere.

Location

In a safe, residential area within walking-distance of shops and restaurants

The hotel is located on a quiet residential street adjacent to busy Highway 89A, Sedona's main drag. The area is safe and well-lit at night, and there are several shops and places to eat within walking distance. More shops, restaurants, and hiking trails are within close driving distance. It's a seven-minute drive down 89A to the center of town; the Sedona Airport is nine minutes away.

Rooms

Handsome rooms and suites with sand-colored decor and modern appliances

All 89 rooms and suites have microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and flat-screen TVs. Room accents are dominated by hues of sand and rust, in keeping with the red rock desert aesthetic in the area. Bathrooms are small, with shower/tub combos and separate sink/mirror areas. Suites have living rooms and fireplaces, and some have whirlpools and patios. DVDs can be borrowed free of charge and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms.

Features

Pet-friendly amenities, outdoor pool, and free, filling breakfast

Sedona Real goes out of its way to provide comforts for pets and their owners, and there's a family park with a dog walk, an outdoor play area for kids and pets, a fire pit, a horseshoe pit, and a charcoal grill. The hotel also has an outdoor pool with lounge chairs, and there's a small indoor gym. There's a business center in the lobby with a couple of computer stations, a fax machine, and a printer. The property also has coin-operated laundry facilities for guest use. There's no restaurant, but there is a free breakfast served every morning that includes waffles and other hot dishes.
