This tired, rundown hotel is outdated and unkempt. The decor in the 300 rooms is basic and lacks a sense of personality. Moldy wallpaper, caused by the leaky sunroof in the downstairs area, makes it clear the hotel is has seen better days. Amenities are few, and the only real draws here are the relatively low rates and the sweeping sea views. The private beach is also a plus, but the elevator leading to it is not accessible a majority of the time.

This rundown and unkempt hotel lacks a sense of intimacy that nearby hotels possess. The grounds are manicured, but the large, industrial-looking building feels generic and, at times, abandoned. The rust red carpets and beige walls that line the hallways are dull and dreary, and the oversized common areas with high ceilings make the hotel feel like a vacant ghost town. The only aspect that seems well-maintained is the pool, where most people tend to congregate.

The hotel is secluded and isolated, on a road shared by houses and residential villas. The only way to get to the nearest town, Trabia, is by driving, which takes about 15 minutes. It is also around a 30-minute drive to the beautiful Capo Gallo Naturel Reserve. Palermo, which is 50 minutes away, is the nearest airport.

Evergreen colored floors and red bedding are the only hints of color in the otherwise lackluster -- albeit spacious -- rooms, which feature outdated, basic wood furniture. Each room includes a mini-fridge and the beds are actually two separate beds pushed together. There is also a narrow balcony with plastic chairs and a table. The garden view rooms overlook the outdoor dining area and the roof of the first floor. The sea view rooms are located directly over the parking lot, and look out at the stunning, turquoise-blue water in the distance. Bathrooms have generic white tiles, hairdryers, showers, bidets, and appliances in disrepair.
