M Hotel Singapore

Scene

A sleek, contemporary hotel geared toward business travelers

The bronze bull in the lobby of M Hotel Singapore is a nod to the fact that this is a business hotel. The 29-floor glass building is located in the Central Business District and overlooks commercial skyscrapers and some of Marina Bay. The sprawling lobby, with its sleek and spare wood, glass, and steel decor, bustles with local and international guests -- most of which are here for business. The main reception area offers multiple check-in desks and some seating. The hotel's dining spaces have a similar sleek and corporate vibe that's a bit generic, but it's all clean and sophisticated. Though the majority of the clientele comprises business travelers, some tourists stay here too, though it's not the best location for sightseeing.

Location

Good location for business travelers, but not for visitors looking to easily see the sights

The M Hotel Singapore is at the southern end of the Central Business District. The hotel usually offers a free morning shuttle to a few business destinations within the neighborhood. The Tanjong Pagar MRT station is just a five-minute walk away, and is useful for traveling within the area and downtown. There are a few easy direct stops for travelers looking to sightsee, such as hot spots Clarke Quay and Chinatown, which can both be reached in under 30 minutes by public transit (it takes around the same time to walk as well; Chinatown is closer than Clarke Quay, and walkable in 20 minutes). Cabs, though not accessible via cabstand at the hotel, can get guests to Sentosa or VivoCity in less than 10 minutes. Visitors looking for good food or shopping don’t have to travel too far, with top destinations like the Lau Pa Sat Food Centre and 100 AM Shopping Mall within a five- to 10-minute walk of the property. Changi Airport is about a 20-minute drive away, or around an hour by public transportation.
