Village Hotel Albert Court by Far East Hospitality

Restored from pre-war shop houses, the heritage of the hotel's exterior has been preserved from its days of vibrant night markets along Albert Street. While the hotel features several modern additions, it still maintains a rather dated look. The lobby is quite small by hotel standards and is dominated by the two escalators in the middle of the building. The waiting lounge features old-fashioned suede seating, traditional marble flooring, fresh flowers, and bland artwork on the walls. The Lobby Bar features similar suede sofas and ottomans, while Albert Cafe is slightly more modern and vibrant. Two indoor hot tubs offer a place for guests to relax, though these are shared among all guests -- limiting privacy. The prime location near Little India means the hotel is mostly frequented by leisure travelers, though the close proximity to two subway stations is also popular among business travelers.

Located within close proximity to two subway stations as well as within walking distance to Little India -- the hotel's convenient location in the quiet neighborhood of Bugis is often applauded by guests. It's a three-minute walk to the Rocher Subway Station, and a seven-minute walk to the Little India Subway Station. There are plenty of nearby shops and restaurants, though the seven-minute walk into Little India will offer an array of Indian restaurants and shops. For shopping, Bugis+ and Bugis Junction are a 10-minute walk, Mustafa Center a 14-minute walk, and Raffles City a 20-minute walk or seven-minute drive. The National Museum is a 12-minute walk and the Masjid Sultan Mosque is 14 minutes on foot. Orchard Road, a diverse shopping and dining area, is a six-minute drive or 20 minutes on public transport. The Marina Bay Sands Casino is a 10-minute drive or 17 minutes on public transport. To reach the Changi Airport Singapore, it's a 19-minute drive or an hour on public transport. 

Rooms at the Village Hotel Albert Court by Far East Hospitality are typical of what's found in many mid-range chain hotels: simple furnishings and simple amenities. The decor and furnishings in the 210 guest rooms are pleasant and classic, though some guests find them dated and lacking in character. A neutral color palette of beige and brown is consistent throughout the rooms, including in the furniture, curtains, linens, and patterned wallpaper. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, minibars, bottled water, tea/coffee-making facilities, safes, irons and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms are small and quite lovely, with cream and blue tiled walls and dark-tiled flooring. Modern fixtures include showers or shower/tub combos. Bathrobes, slippers, hairdryers, and toiletries are provided. The suites are located in an exclusive section and include their own lounge with a flat-screen TV and coffee machine. 

The Village Hotel Albert Court by Far East Hospitality offers some nice features, including Lobby Bar and Albert Cafe for drinks, light snacks, and international and local cuisine. A buffet breakfast is available, though it's not included in the lower-priced rooms. Two hot tubs are provided. Bottled water and towels are available for self service, next to two wicker chairs. Guests have access to the modern fitness center set with Lifefitness cardio- and weight-training equipment. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, and provides concierge services and luggage storage. Two basic function rooms are available for small- to medium-size meetings. Limited business services include faxing and photocopying. Laundry and dry cleaning service are available for a fee. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
