Elite Eden Park Hotel

From the outside, the Elite Eden Park Hotel looks sleek and modern, with orange neon nights and under-lit balconies. The lobby is clean-lined and understated, with mid-century-style leather sofas, marble floors, dark banquettes, elegant wooden benches, and tables topped with glossy coffee-table books. The recessed floor lights contribute to the sophisticated ambience. A marble spiral staircase departs from the lobby, although there are also elevators. The overall feeling is modern and minimalist -- except, of course, for the Bishops Arms, an atmospheric bar modeled on an historic English pub, complete with dark wood-and-leather booths, bar stools, and real ales. Miss Voon, the main restaurant, has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on the adjacent park from its moody, jewel-toned dining room, decorated with black-and-white photographs and Asian pottery. The hotel is popular with couples on a city break, but business travelers are regular guests, too, as it has two meeting rooms and is a 10-minute drive from a major business center.

The Elite Eden Park Hotel is located in Ostermalm, right next to Humlegården Park, making it a peaceful base in the vibrant city center. A five-minute stroll puts you amid the restaurants and shops of Stureplan Square, and the Vasa Museum is a 20-minute walk away. It’s close to bustling Gamla Stan, where there’s plenty of shopping and dining. There's a bus stop down the block and taxis are abundant. To get to the central train station, it’s a 20-minute walk, or 10-minute cab ride. The trendy neighborhood of Sodermalm is a 20-minute bus ride away.

Rooms at the Elite Eden Park Hotel have clean-lined, minimalist decor in muted creams and browns, with mid-century accents. Even the lowest tier rooms are larger than expected, and most rooms have hardwood floors; all have large windows that let in lots of natural light. All rooms have pillow-top mattresses and higher-tier rooms have purple recessed lighting, plush sofas, and dramatic four-poster beds. Bathrooms are marble and modern, with either combination shower/tubs or a soaking tub and separate walk-in rainfall shower, as well as Penhaligon toiletries. Rooms come with all the amenities you’d expect in an upscale hotel: bowls of fruit, air-conditioning, bathrobes, fully stocked mini-bars, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and an ironing board and iron. There’s also an electronic charger for nearly every type of phone and media device. Rooms have some street noise to the front of the hotel, guests should note that rooms facing the garden at the back are quieter.

The hotel has two options for on-site dining: the gourmet, Asian-inspired Miss Voon and the Bishops Arms gastropub. The ample free breakfast is served at Miss Voon each morning. The fitness center has parquet floors, a locker room, and a sauna, and is stocked with modern machines. Parking is available for a fee, and there's a laundry service. There are also two meeting rooms, a business center, and free Wi-Fi.
