Bahía Fañabé Suites is a mid-range hotel with a laid-back vibe. Guests are mainly families with children, and the property is lively but relaxing, with local black stone touches that contrast with the white façade, and lots of tropical plants. The lobby is spacious and bright, with a few contemporary white couches, red lamps, and large windows overlooking the pool area and the bar, which is popular with guests. The rooms are housed in several two-story buildings with white façades and blue-rimmed windows. While attractive, this layout may be inconvenient for those with mobility issues, as there are quite a few steps and long corridors to some of the rooms.

The hotel is located on a wide boulevard three blocks from Playa Fañabé, the longest beach in Adeje. There is a shopping and dining strip a three-minute walk from the property, and a bus stop right outside the main entrance. Playa del Duque is within walking distance, and Los Cristianos, Las Américas and La Caleta beaches can all be reached in under five minutes by car. Those who prefer to use public transportation can take a bus to all of the area’s main beaches. Tenerife Sur Airport can be reached by car in 10 minutes, and by bus in under 50 minutes.

The hotel offers studios and one-bedroom apartments, most featuring furnished balconies or terraces overlooking the pool. Decor is mostly white here, with a few attractive blue accents in door and window frames that somewhat evoke the color palette of the Greek islands. Modern decor includes blue couches and arm chairs, light wood headboards and tables, and big graphic prints of the ocean, but some rooms still feature the original clay floors (not changed during the extensive 2013 renovations), which have dirty grout and can make the room feel a little dated. All units feature fully equipped kitchenettes with hot plates, mini-fridges, sinks, coffeemakers, and full-sized ovens, and can sleep up to four guests. Free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby, but there is a daily or weekly fee for in-room Internet access.

The large free-form pool is located at the center of the property, and features a separate kiddy pool and a bar offering drinks and snacks. There are plenty of loungers around it and a small man-made waterfall close to the restaurant’s veranda. With a good selection of tasty options, outdoor seating, and prompt service, the buffet restaurant is a solid option for all three main meals, and a popular pick among guests, who often praise the breakfast spread the most. Bar Villas has lots of seating space by the pool, and also offers food and drink menus. The fitness center features a few cardio and strength training machines -- but there is a daily fee for use of the facilities. The spa features a treatment room and a wellness area complete with a whirlpool and a sauna. There is no dedicated kids’ club, but there is a game room for teens, with a pool table, video games, and a couple of shelves with books in several languages.
