Not much to do in the surrounding area
Rooms are small, with tiny bathrooms
Ca’ Nova is a value hotel that offers seven small, simple rooms with flat-screen TVs and mini-fridges. There’s a popular seafood
restaurant on-site serving a changing menu based on the catch that's available
at the local markets. Guests receive a discount at the restaurant for lunch and
dinner, and a free breakfast is provided. The hotel's location is not ideal, however, as it's situated in an industrial area
with not much nearby. Venice attractions require combinations a taxi or bus rides plus long walks and/or boat trips to reach. For just a bit more cash per night, travelers can stay right in Venice's San Polo area at the mid-range Locanda Sant'Agostin, which is a 15-minute walk from Piazza San Marco.
Scene
Small hotel with charming interiors
Planters holding green shrubs line the front of the white, two-story building housing this mid-range, family-run hotel. The greenery creates a leafy backdrop for the veranda, which is filled with patio furniture and dining tables, providing a pleasant space where guests can socialize. Inside, the lobby is small yet charming, with a handsome, wooden front desk and a built-in bench and bookcase. The hotel's restaurant has an elegant feel with minty green and silver walls that match the curtains, wooden panelling, and sconce lighting, while fresh flowers add a touch of class on
top of the white linen-covered tables. Overall, this is a small and charming spot, that though a bit dated, makes for a pleasant stay. Couples make up the majority of guests who stay here.
Location
In an industrial area outside of Venice's historic city center
The hotel
is located in an semi-industrial neighborhood outside of central Venice, with not much in the immediate vicinity. It sits on the mainland, not on the Venetian islands, and the immediate area isn't the most pleasant place neighborhood to explore. It takes about 10 minutes by taxi to reach the western side of the Venetian islands in the lagoon, and from the automobile drop off point it's another 30 minutes or so by vaporetto to Piazza San Marco. Alternatively there is a bus stop a five-minute walk from the hotel, though using public transport will make the commute take even longer. Venezia Mestre Station is a five-minute drive away, while Venice Marco Polo Airport can be reached in about 15 minutes by car.
Rooms
Small, simple rooms with old school style plus mini-fridges and flat-screen TVs
Rooms at the hotel are fairly small, with homey, old school decor that includes striped wallpaper, dark patterned carpeting, floor-length curtains, and dark wooden furnishings like desks and
bureaus. The look is classic and a bit dated -- some of the furniture also appeared quite worn. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Some room have windows or small balconies overlooking a busy, tree-lined street. Bathrooms are
small, but clean, with white marble floors and walls and glass-enclosed walk-in showers. There's little counter space, but toiletries and towels are provided. Fresh flowers and dishes filled with free candy are a
thoughtful touch.
