Whistler RV Park & Campgrounds

Whistler RV Park and Campgrounds is a camping and RV park set on a vast expanse that's dotted with pine trees and elevated above the valley, providing great views of Black Tusk and Whistler Mountain. A steep driveway leads to the property, and there's a gate with code access that's locked in the evenings. At the entrance is a log cabin office with porch seating, but most campers sit on picnic tables overlooking the valley. In 2013 the property changed ownership and spruced up the grounds by planting new trees, renovating the shower complex, and building a bridge over the Brandywine Creek for ATVs and snowmobiles. Out-of-use Whistler gondolas are set on the grounds, adding character to the property. The park can get lively in summer months, and younger campers often stay here during the Whistler Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival and Wanderlust Whistler yoga festival. 

This campground suits travelers who want to be surrounded by the wilderness and enjoy beautiful views of Whistler Mountain, a 25-minute drive away. The location is great for those who want to access the snowmobile and ATV paths at the nearby Brandywine Park, but it's not ideal for those wanting to be close to to town. The Creekside Gondola is a 15-minute drive away and it's a 20-minute drive to Whistler town, where there are tons of shops, restaurants, and the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Guests can also catch a ride to town via the property’s free shuttle. Lost Lake, Whistler Mountain Bike Park, and Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre are within 20 to 30 minutes by car. Whistler Airport is a 20-minute drive, while Vancouver International Airport is two hours away by car. 

The property offers tent campgrounds, three trailer cabins with bunk beds, a teepee, and RV sites with full hookups for electricity, sewage, and water. Although the RV park is open year-round, the tent campground is closed during winter. All sites offer picnic tables, fire pits, water faucets, and free Wi-Fi, but some have stronger signals than others. Views of the valley and mountains are terrific, but sites are relatively close together and don’t provide much privacy, despite the surrounding pine trees. There’s a shower complex with deep sinks, hot showers, and toilets, though they can be a bit of a trek for campers not located by the office. Three bathrooms with toilets throughout the property are convenient. The largest of three available cabins has a toilet, a sitting area, and a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, a sink, and a toaster. 

The park has direct access to the snowmobile bridge over the Brandywine Creek and the front desk provides maps for nearby ATV and snowmobile trails. There are also some fun recreational activities on-site, including a rugged-looking wiffle golf course, free use of cruiser bikes, and a frisbee golf course. The office has a market with all the basics: snacks, ice, toilet paper, and other camping provisions. Additionally, an on-site laundry room has coin-operated washers and dryers. There's also a computer with Internet in the lobby for guest use. Coffee is available in the outdoor Brew Mountain Cafe kiosk, next to site 93.
