Taum Resort Bali

The Taum Resort Bali offers modern style in a peaceful location on Seminyak’s outskirt, but it's still in walking distance to the nightlife and shopping. The property largely attracts couples and families on leisure vacations. Interior designs blend traditional Balinese elements and modern decor. The open-air lobby combines a slick glass ceiling with a pink-washed Asian mural behind the front desk, and contemporary, low-lying wood furniture. The lobby lounge offers additional comfy, casual couches in wood and neutral tones with pops of bright pink and purple, along with a flat-screen TV and pool views. Outdoor hallways -- with stairs and a glass elevator -- lead to rooms, while pathways lead through manicured gardens, with picnic tables, plumeria and palm trees, and lily ponds. The outdoor pool -- with a kiddy pool attached -- is surrounded by bright green lawns, palms, and a deck with stylish lounge chairs and purple umbrellas. Vine-covered outdoor showers on a grassy embankment amid the lush natural surroundings appeal to many guests; the rooftop yoga and meditation area also has a one-with-nature vibe. 

The hotel is in the Kerobokan area in North Kuta on the fringes of Seminyak. However, the popular dining, shopping, and nightlife spots -- such as Potato Head Beach Club and Seminyak Square -- are in 15 minutes' walking distance, while the lauded restaurant KU DE TA is about a 20 minutes' walk away. The hotel’s free shuttle goes to Petitenget Beach and Seminyak Square in under 10 minutes. The Bali Trick Art Gallery 3D is a 10-minute drive. It's a five-minute car trip to the Pura Petitenget Temple, and about 40 minutes' drive to Tanah Lot Temple. It’s an hour by car to the Bali Safari & Marine Park. The Ngurah Rai International Airport takes 30 minutes by car.

The vibe in rooms is contemporary Balinese, with sleek furnishings in dark wood and rattan, wooden floors, bamboo accents, and open layouts. All rooms have air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, safes, and kitchenettes, which have minibar supplies in medium-size refrigerators, two-burner stovetops, wet bars, and coffee/tea facilities. Modern bathrooms have hairdryers, toilet hoses, and separate showers and/or shower/tub combos. The most basic option, Taum Studios, have furnished balconies with optional pool views. Two-level Taum Duplexes have two bathrooms and sofa beds; some have private pools with outdoor showers. Three-bedroom Family Residences have two floors, terraces, and two bathrooms; some have pools. All options except studios have separate living/dining rooms. DVD players and rollaway beds are available on request. 

The Taum Restaurant -- serving Thai, international, and Indonesian fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner -- is a trendy open-air dining room by the pool, with light wooden furniture, a bar, and a buffet counter. The Tam Lounge above the restaurant serves cocktails. The Samuan boardroom is available for meetings, and small- to medium-size events can be held in the gardens, on the pool deck, and on the rooftop deck. The brightly colored business center has a PC computer. The Cense by Spa Cenvaree has a patio and fish pond, as well as two treatment rooms for massages, and a reflexology area; poolside massages are available. The 24-hour gym provides modern cardio equipment, with yoga and meditation classes offered on a rooftop terrace. Bicycle rentals are available on-site, and staff can arrange for sailing trips and surfing outings.
