A sweeping mirrored staircase leads up to the main building, a charming 18th-century townhouse with a brick sandstone facade and gray slate roofing. Behind the small front desk inside is a lounge with high ceilings and wood-paneled walls decorated with antique tapestries; the overall look, however, can feel more dated than charmingly historic to some. A set of French doors open up to the hotel's pretty garden at the back, which blooms with fragrant flowers during spring and summer months.
