Review Summary

  • Rooms have unobstructed city views
  • Well-appointed and modern fitness center
  • Central location within walking distance of stadiums and museums
  • Close to light rail station with access to downtown
  • Fully stocked business center

  • Indoor pool is small and narrow
  • Can be overrun by large conventions
  • Restaurant is mediocre and overpriced
  • Wi-Fi and parking are pricey

Bottom Line

The 700-room Westin Charlotte has a hard time standing out from any other mid-level chain. As always, the chain's Heavenly Beds are comfortable, but the furniture throughout the rest of the room is dinged and slightly showing its age. Fitness buffs will love the fitness center, but the pool area (while clean) is small and narrow. It would be strictly a business traveler's mainstay if not for its convenient location within walking distance of stadiums, restaurants, attractions, and a light rail stop with access to downtown.

Conveniently located in Uptown Charlotte, close to major sites and sports arenas

Map of The Westin Charlotte

The Westin Charlotte is centrally located in bustling Uptown, where most major attractions and sports arenas, along with corporate offices and banks, can be found. The property is located two blocks from the Bank of America Stadium (where the Charlotte Panthers play) and a 15-minute walk to the Time Warner Cable Arena.

Uptown Charlotte is home to the majority of the city's hotels, as well as the business district and numerous parks. Many Uptown hotels are within walking distance of museums, like the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and performance centers, including the Center for African American Arts and Culture, a multi-purpose center that hosts special events and exhibitions. Those looking for a less traditional museum may consider checking out the highly popular NASCAR Hall of Fame.
