Best Boutique Hotels in Cyprus

The Mediterranean island of Cyprus pulls in millions of annual visitors in want of beautiful beaches, plentiful sunshine, historic towns, and archeological sites. Oyster’s investigators have paid in-person visits to more than 200 hotels across Cyprus, and, of those, only a very small handful qualify as boutique properties. Take a look at the hotels deemed the best boutiques in Cyprus, thanks to their small size, sense of style, and Cypriot charm.

Londa Hotel

Limassol, Limassol District, Cyprus

The 68-room Londa Hotel is a seaside boutique with a happening bar scene, within walking distance of Limassol's dining and nightlife. The hotel has direct access to a small beachfront, but the main event here is the outdoor pool with its comfortable daybed loungers and a covered poolside bar terrace. An open-air cocktail lounge hosts live DJs and the upscale restaurant serves local seafood, as well as cheeses and cured meats imported from Italy. (A free breakfast buffet is included in the rates.) There's also a full spa, with a hot tub, steam room, sauna, and plunge pool. Contrasting materials (such as netting, thatch, and olive wood) add texture to the rooms, where Nespresso machines, minibars, and Molton Brown toiletries come standard.

The King Jason Paphos-Adults Only

Paphos, Paphos District, Cyprus

This upscale boutique hotel exudes a quiet, chic vibe from the moment guests enter. The 127 contemporary rooms share a decor scheme consisting of polished marble floors and off-white linens offset by the occasional quirky addition, such as patchwork-patterned chairs or hatstands shaped like gigantic pencils. All units have kitchenettes with coffee-and tea-making facilities (pods cost extra), fridges, two-burner stoves, and microwaves. However, most guests opt for the all-inclusive package (and rightly so), which includes high-quality and varied buffet spreads for all three meals, plus an afternoon snack and tea service. Amenities include a small fitness center, a massage treatment room, and four pools, including the indoor Asteria Pool (great for cooler months), complete with LED light fixtures designed to resemble the night sky (asteria is Greek for stars).

The Ciao Stelio Deluxe Hotel

Larnaca, Larnaka District, Cyprus

Across the street from the beach, just south of the center of Larnaca, The Ciao Stelio Deluxe Hotel is a four-pearl business-oriented boutique hotel for adults only. The 53 rooms and suites are sleekly designed, with ample use of white furniture and all sorts of nice amenities and freebies. Hotel features are geared toward business travelers, and include a lovely restaurant with indoor and terrace seating and a free and varied breakfast buffet. The Grand Bar also serves light meals along with cocktails and coffee, and 24-hour room service is available. While there's no pool or fitness center, guests do get free access to the adjacent Total Fit Gym, which has an indoor pool, a sauna, and exercise equipment.

Alasia Hotel

Limassol, Limassol District, Cyprus

Located on the grounds where Cyprus' first racecourse once stood, Alasia Hotel is an upscale boutique hotel with contemporary, minimalist styling and lots of references to polo. The 60 rooms come with minibars, free Wi-Fi, and all-natural Greek toiletries. Corner Executive Suites have espresso machines and whirlpool hot tubs on the balconies decorated with candle lanterns. Alasia has a pool, bar/restaurant, and 24-hour room service, but its best feature is its gorgeous subterranean spa, which features a hot tub, steam and sauna facilities, and an ozone pool heated to body temperature and used for hydrotherapy treatments. There's a small window at the top of the spa with views into the hotel's main outdoor pool, so spa guests can watch people swim by like fish in an aquarium.

5

Columbia Beach Resort Pissouri

Pissouri, Limassol District, Cyprus

Columbia Beach Resort Pissouri is a luxurious suite property overlooking a private bay beach. A design featuring natural stone, dark wood, sea-blue mosaics, and picturesque archways, combined with a landscape of potted plants and native trees add up to a true Mediterranean vibe. The 95 big, peaceful suites have stone floors and ceiling fans (as well as air-conditioning), plus espresso machines, minibars, deep soaking tubs, and private balconies. The crowning feature is the pretty beach lined with straw palapas and sunbeds, and there is also a lagoon-style pool with a swim-up bar. Food and drink options include a cocktail bar with Bay of Pissouri views and an on-site taverna serving fresh-caught fish and traditional Cypriot meze. Columbia's free breakfast buffet includes cooked-to-order eggs and champagne.

Roman Boutique Hotel

Paphos, Paphos District, Cyprus

Roman Boutique Hotel is certainly one of the more unusual hotels in Cyprus, owing to its unabashed (and some might argue, gaudy) Greco-Roman myth theme. The exterior facade is designed to look like a crumbling old castle, and inside, the theme only intensifies, with ancient-style Greek and Roman murals plastered across ochre walls and replicas of mosaics found at the nearby archaeological park found throughout. The myth theme continues to the 87 rooms, all of which have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and private balconies. Features include a gorgeous pool surrounded by tropical foliage, a spa, and a restaurant for breakfast and dinner. There is reliable free Wi-Fi, not always a given in Paphos, and the location across from Kings Avenue Mall and near the archaeological sites is a plus.
