It’s a half-hour drive to downtown, however, so travelers seeking something closer to the city might want to check out the historic Little America Hotel Flagstaff.

Since opening in 2013, this beautiful casino resort has emerged as a community resource and popular destination for tourists traveling between the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Its large conference center stays busy hosting local events, while attractive rates and beautiful facilities make it a traveler’s oasis in the high desert. The resort exudes a wow factor upon entering the oval lobby, which has a spectacular glass bead chandelier that creates the look of a sparkling rainfall cascading from the second floor and illuminating a large mosaic on the floor. Huge vases showcasing southwestern art flank the entrance of the rotunda and its natural stone walls. Colors and symbols that are significant to the Navajo culture are showcased throughout the bright resort. Its restaurants and opulent casino are feasts for the senses, with rich colors and ornate design elements that make each space warm and inviting.

Isolated setting 30 minutes east of Flagstaff
This casino resort is isolated in an open, high-desert setting just off Interstate 40. It’s a good distance from any other developments or even restaurants, approximately a 30-minute drive east of downtown Flagstaff, its Amtrak Station, Pulliam Airport, and Northern Arizona University. Winslow is about a 35-minute drive in the other direction. The Grand Canyon Visitor Center at the south entrance is a little less than two hours away, and the Petrified Forest National Park is around one hour and 20 minutes away. Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument is 40 minutes. Heading south, Sedona’s airport is a 70-minute drive, and the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is two and a half hours by car. The resort has lovely views of the San Francisco Mountains.
