Bottom Line

The 30-room Fairway Hotel
is a charming family-run budget property conveniently close to Kings Cross St Pancras tube and train station. Cozy
rooms have flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, wood floors, and large windows, but
there are no bathtubs or air-conditioning. Additionally, some bathrooms are
shared and have a musty smell. The free breakfast receives mostly good
reviews, and there is free Wi-Fi throughout the property. However, both the breakfast area and
the front desk close early, and there is no elevator or on-site parking. As an alternative, travelers could also check rates at the up-to-date, budget Tune Hotel - Paddington.

Scene

A quaint, family-run hotel with a cozy, inviting atmosphere

This family-run hotel
offers a homey, friendly atmosphere. There's a stylish lobby with gray
wallpaper, a wooden front desk (though it's not staffed around the clock), a flat-screen TV, and a leather chair. A modern
hanging light fixture and light tile add brightness to the space. The cozy basement-level breakfast room has wood wainscoting, pinkish walls, and rust-colored velvet curtains. But hallways at this property are
narrow, and there's no elevator.

Location

On a quiet street within a five-minute walk of commerce and public transportation

The Fairway Hotel sits on a
quiet row of Georgian row houses with the St. Pancras International Train Station
and King’s Cross/St. Pancras Undergrounds Station a five-minute walk away. The
British Library, Cartwright Gardens, restaurants, and shops are also within a
five-minute walk, while Russell Square is a 15-minute walk from the hotel. The
London Zoo, Convent Garden, and Leicester Square are a 10-minute taxi ride, while
Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, and Big Ben are 15-minutes away by car, traffic permitting. Heathrow Airport takes just under an hour by tube.

Rooms

Comfortable and basic rooms with large windows and wooden floors, but no air-conditioning or tubs

Rooms at the Fairway range from tiny Economy Rooms to big Quadruple
Rooms with wooden floors, red blankets, colorful abstract artwork, and big windows that let in lots of natural light. Flat-screen TVs are mounted on the walls, while coffeemakers sit on light wood desks, but none of the rooms have air-conditioning. Bathrooms are simple, with gray walls and tile walk-in showers. Some rooms share musty-smelling bathrooms and only have sinks in-room.

Features

Free Wi-Fi and included breakfast that ends early

Breakfast is included in room rates and the spread features hot items such as eggs, bacon, and sausage along with cereal, meats, cheeses, fruit, juice, and coffee.
The meal receives mostly good reviews, but late sleepers should note that service ends early in the morning. Free
Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
