The 68-room High Tech Petit Palace Arenal is located in the heart of Madrid. Major attractions such as Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and the Royal Palace are all within easy walking distance. Decent-sized, modern rooms have flat-screen TVs and minibars, plus a couple of great extras such as hydro-massage showers and free in-room PCs upon request. Amenities include an exposed brick breakfast room (the buffet is not included in the nightly rate) and a business center. This boutique property is showing its age, and rooms on the lower floors facing the street get noise from a nearby nightclub. This mid-range pick is great for location, but it's worth comparing prices with the stylish Me Madrid.
Location
Smack in the heart of Madrid, near top attractions, shopping, and nightlife
The location of High Tech Petit Palace Arenal is hard to beat. Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, La Almudena Cathedral, the Royal Theater, and Sabatini Gardens are all within a five-minute walk of the property. Arenal is a pedestrian street running from Puerta del Sol to Opera, where the Royal Theater is located. The central location brings hordes of tourists and locals day and night. There’s a popular nightclub and concert hall across the street from the hotel; the noise and crowds might annoy some guests.Great shopping around Sol and Gran Via are an easy walk away, as is young nightlife in the Huertas neighborhood. La Latina, a tapas and al fresco dining and drinking hotspot is a quick stroll away (across beautiful Plaza Mayor), and the Austrias area, with beautiful 17th-century architecture and cobblestone streets is just a few blocks down Arenal Street.Sol is the heart of Madrid, both geographically speaking and in a figurative sense. “Kilometer Zero” (where all roads in Spain are said to start), shopping, dining, nightlife, and major tourist attractions are all here. This means many tourists in Madrid for a short time never leave the neighborhood. Also, its central location is ideal for those who like to explore the city on foot. But those who prefer taking public transportation, Sol is one of the major transportation hubs in Madrid, with trains, buses, and several subway lines converging on the same spot.- 25-minute drive to Madrid-Barajas Airport
