Scene
Luxury hotel with sleek, modern, Japanese-inspired decor
Hotel De Nell is situated in an elegant six-story, white corner building from 1900 with ornate facade detailing, top dormer windows, and swirling wrought-iron Juliet balconies. In early 2013, the Charm & More group brought in top designers for a total renovation of the property. The lobby has modern Japanese-inspired decor with light-wood floors, cream-colored walls, and wood accents. A glass skylight lets in lots of light over trendy sitting areas with blue accent rugs, square armchairs, and long rectangular couches with slatted wood back. The small lobby bar has a chic lounge featuring light-wood furniture with beige upholstery and a sleek white fireplace. The hotel restaurant is a trendy spot, with charming black-and-white tiled floors and a central bar with chalkboard menus, not to mention a huge wine library. The hotel, with its double beds and open-format bathrooms, draws leisure travelers, especially couples.

Minimalist rooms with luxurious open-format bathrooms and modern amenities
The 33 rooms at the Hotel de Nell are minimalist but modern, with lots of natural light, and for a central Paris hotel, they're pretty spacious, too. Classic Rooms are the simplest, with beige carpeted floors, white walls, occasional dark accents, and cylindrical silver light fixtures. Beds are topped with white Egyptian cottons, and soundproofing and blackout curtains ensure a good night's sleep. Upgraded rooms have parquet floors and accent rugs. The open-plan bathrooms are the real standout, and showers feature wood ceilings and luxurious rainfall showerheads. Seventeen of the 33 rooms include large Japanese baths carved from solid blocks of marble and feature wooden seats and bath caddies. Some rooms have nice views of the 19th-century Sainte-Cecile church across the street, but Classic Rooms face the courtyard. Most rooms are doubles, though extra beds (additional fee) and some adjoining rooms are available.Rooms also have under-floor heating and air-conditioning along with individual climate control. In-room amenities include small desks, 36-inch LCD TVs, bluetooth speaker systems, and free Wi-Fi. Wardrobes contain minibars stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, along with snacks, a safe, and storage space. Bathrooms include hairdryers, slippers, bathrobes, and designer toiletries. Guests are provided with turndown service with a chocolate on the pillow. Upgraded rooms have Nespresso coffeemakers.
