One of the priciest neighborhoods in Paris
Hotel Lumen is a modern and chic boutique hotel in the fashionable 1st Arrondissement, within walking distance to the Louvre and several other must-see attractions. Though the hotel and rooms are small (as is typical of Parisian hotels), Hotel Lumen makes the most of its space: The hip lobby has funky chandeliers and furniture (including some Philippe Starck-like chairs), and the tight rooms have a posh look with velvet furniture, a warm gray-and-mauve color scheme, and luxe accents. However, decorative but not-very-efficient light fixtures mean the rooms are relatively dark. And the 1st Arrondissement is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Paris, so rates here can be pricey.

A relatively small neighborhood, it is dominated by attractions such as the Louvre, and the nearby Palais-Royal and Tuileries Gardens.Tourists are always bustling through the 1st Arrondissement, making it one of the city's most crowded (and most expensive) areas.
