Boracay Beach Club

A busy road divides this mid-range hotel in two sections, one housing the beachfront bar, and the other housing the rooms, the restaurant, and the outdoor pool. Guests enter the property through Ariel’s House -- the hotel’s main restaurant -- and need to cross a small courtyard with a pool and cabanas before getting to the main building. Two glass doors open onto the small, basic lobby which has a tiny front desk, a few couches, and a couple of plants. A small fountain with stones and plants is charming, and large windows make the space sunny and appealing. Across the street is the beachfront lounge, which offers direct access to White Beach, Boracay’s most stunning stretch of sand. Due to the main building’s location a little set back from the street, rooms are mostly quiet, but units on the ground floor may get some noise. This is a basic property that would be a good pick for all types of travelers seeking good value in a great beachside location.

The hotel is located on a busy street in Section 1, the quietest of all three of Boracay’s main beach areas. Right across the road is White Beach, the island’s most stunning stretch of sand, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Busy Sections 2 and 3 are also a stroll away, where guests can find a wide array of bars, restaurants, and shops. Willy’s Rock, a popular volcanic rock formation topped with a small shrine, is just a a two-minute walk from the hotel, and the Holy Rosary Parish can be reached in about five minutes on foot. 

The hotel has 36 spacious, clean rooms, all with simple wooden furniture, king beds, and tiled floors. Decor is basic and functional, but wooden platform beds add local charm, and large windows let in lots of natural light. In-room amenities are a notch above many other mid-range properties in the area, and include flat-screen TVs, stocked minibars, electric kettles, air-conditioning, safes big enough for a laptop, and hotel-brand toiletries. Bathrooms have large walk-in showers with glass screens, and glass mosaics in green, gray, and black on walls. Suites have a bit of extra color with blue or beige accents, plus a living area with basic wooden furniture. The Admiral Suite has a small bar area with a sink. Wi-Fi is available for free, but the signal can be spotty, as is common in the area. 

Ariel’s House is the hotel’s main restaurant. It serves Western and Filipino cuisine in a glass-enclosed space with street views and air-conditioning. Across the street is Ariel’s Bar, located right on the beach and offering a drinks and food menu as well as outdoor seating and great sunset views. The freeform pool is small but pleasant, with several loungers and cabanas in a quiet courtyard with lots of plants and palm trees. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi (though the signal can be spotty), free breakfast at the beachfront bar or the rooftop deck, and in-room or poolside massage services.
