MOODs Boutique Hotel is an
upscale hotel, a 15-minute walk to the Old Town Square and the Astronomical
Clock Tower. The hotel puts an emphasis on technology, with free Wi-Fi throughout, iPod docks, and Apple TVs available for rent. Rooms are sleek with
minimal decor, minibars, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. There's no restaurant, but there is a free breakfast buffet
and a bar serving drinks and snacks. Thai massages are offered in a small spa area. Those looking to stay closer to Old Town Square or who want to stay somewhere with more dining options may want to check out Barcelo Old Town Praha, an upscale hotel with a modern restaurant and bar.
Scene
Colorful hallways, modern dining area, and modern technology
Each floor of MOODS
Boutique Hotel features a different bright color in the hallways, ranging from
vibrant shades of yellow and green to pink and purple. Breakfast is served in a bright
solarium with white benches and colorful, modern chairs. Guests can choose their own music to listen to in the bar via iTunes DJ. Creative
lighting is found throughout the hotel including rooms with color-changing LED
lights over the beds and a crinkly, cloud-like light in the bar. The minimalist lobby offers little more than a reception desk and silver column in the center of the room surrounded by a circular black couch.
Location
Quiet street within walking distance to Old Town Square
The hotel
is located on a quiet street, two blocks from the Vltava River. There are several
restaurants within walking distance, and Old Town Square with its famous
Astronomical Clock can be reached in about 15-minutes on foot. The Palladium
Shopping Center, with over 150 shops and 25 restaurants, is a 10-minute
walk away. It’s about a four-minute walk to the Dlouha trida Metro Station, and
Prague Castle can be reached in about 20-minutes by metro. Getting to the airport takes around 20-minutes by car.
Rooms
Sleek rooms with minimal decor and modern bathrooms
Rooms have sleek decor and minimal furnishings, including bright teal headboards with LED color-changing lights and wooden floors. Decor is otherwise sparse, with gray curtains and blankets and off-white desks and side tables. Quotes from The Three Golden
Keys, a Czech storybook, are written on the walls over the beds and on the glass shower stalls. All
rooms have HDMI, USB, and LAN connections as well as free Wi-Fi. Apple TVs are
available to rent and can be used to stream movies onto the flat-screen TVs. In-room safes are big enough to fit laptops and all rooms have minibars and kettles. Bathrooms
are modern, but have limited counter space and the half-walls on the shower/tub means the floors can get wet.
Features
Free breakfast buffet, posh bar, and spa offering Thai massages
The hotel's free buffet breakfast includes a variety
of hot and cold items including bacon, eggs, cold cuts, fruits, and cereals. The bar on-site serves Czech beers and wines as well as salads, snacks, and even steaks. A small spa area offers Thai massages on tables or floor cushions. There's a space available for
meetings or private events. And while there's no on-site parking, parking is available for a fee nearby. Wi-Fi is free throughout the boutique hotel.
