Scene

Modern chain hotel with streamlined furnishings and Italian touches

Built in the 1960s, the Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge
distinguishes itself from other properties in the chain with some distinctly Italian touches. The hotel is painted a shade of Tuscan
yellow, with frosted balcony railings. Inside, the lobby is bright and
modern with stylish low, white couches and tall, potted palms. The restaurant's dining room is an open space, with red tables and high-back fabric chairs. A
small bar with neon-green lights is a nice place to grab a drink, and there’s an
outdoor stone patio surrounded by leafy plants where guests can smoke. The business
center is bright and modern with glass windows, a sleek, white desk, and red
ergonomic office chairs. Located near many offices and embassies and with four meeting rooms, this property is geared toward business travelers, but draws a fair share of couples and families too.

Location

In an elegant neighborhood near Villa Borghese Park and Bioparco (the zoo)

Hilton Garden Inn Rome
Claridge is in a pretty neighborhood in the quiet and residential Parioli
district, outside the city center. There are many offices and embassies, as well as fine-dining restaurants in the area. It's a 12-minute walk to Villa Borghese
Park and Bioparco (zoo). But Rome's major attractions are farther away, and it requires a 20-minute cab ride to reach such attractions as the Trevi Fountain and Vatican City. It's a 35-minute drive to Ciampino Airport, and about a 40-minute drive to Leonardo da Vinci International Airport.

Rooms

Well-equipped, streamlined rooms, some with balconies

The 93 rooms and suites at the Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge are modern and minimalist, with white walls, light-brown curtains, and touches of wood. A few design-conscious flourishes include large desks with ergonomic Herman Miller chairs and Z-shaped nightstands. But artwork is almost nonexistent, aside from occasional black-and-white prints of Roman street scenes. All rooms come equipped with mini-fridges, coffee- and tea-making facilities, 32-inch LCD TVs, free Wi-Fi, and remote printing
capabilities to the business center. Some rooms have small balconies, and of those, some are a narrow space with just enough room to stand while others are furnished with a metal patio set. Suites have separate living areas with sofa beds. Speckled tile bathrooms with mosaic walls have small,
stand-up showers and bidets, heated towel racks, and basic toiletries. Suite bathrooms are a bit more roomy with shower/tub combos.

Features

On-site restaurant and bar, fitness center, business center, sauna, and Turkish bath

The Great American Grill at the Hilton Garden Inn Claridge serves Italian and international cuisine, and a breakfast buffet for a
fee, and there's a lounge bar on-site and outdoor patio. An on-site pantry equipped with a microwave and refrigerator gives guests a spot to prepare snacks as well. The hotel has a fitness center with modern
cardio and weight machines, and free weights, plus a sauna and
Turkish bath. Four meeting rooms are available for
private functions, accommodating up to 222 guests, and there's a 24-hour business center
with computers and printers. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, and parking is available for a fee. Starting in January 2016, pets will be allowed for a fee as well.
