Hotel Giuliana

A friendly and helpful atmosphere emanates from this family-run hotel, which features a classic style. Free coffee and tea are provided in the lobby, which is covered in gray tile and furnished with a red couch for seating and a small white front desk. Traditional artwork and a tube-style TV hang on the walls. Pink and green lacy tablecloths adorn the tables in the small breakfast room, and the bar has a red front with glass shelving contain liquor bottles. Outside on the small, pretty balcony, there's a chair and table along with many potted plants and flowers. However, most of the decor is dated (although somewhat homey), and the common spaces, especially the breakfast area, are cramped.

The Hotel Giuliana is in the historic district with the Rome Opera, Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, public transportation, restaurants, and shops all a five-minute walk away. Piazza della Repubblica, the Rome Termini Train Station, and Trevi Fountain are less than a 15-minute walk from the hotel, while the Colosseum, Villa Borghese, and Piazza Venezia are around a five-minute drive. The Pantheon and Spanish Steps are a 10-minute drive while the Ciampino Airport and Leonardo da Vinci International Airport are about a 30-minute drive away.

Rooms at the Hotel Guiliana are available in a variety of configurations, including Single through Triple Rooms, and all have a traditional style with light-tile floors, red floral bedspreads, and classic art on their white walls. Air-conditioning flows throughout, and there are minibars with drinks inside mid-tone wood furniture pieces. Coffeemakers sit on top of wood desks and some rooms have flat-screen TVs; other rooms have tube-style TVs. The bedspreads, curtains, and overall style are tired, however, and some rooms have loud exterior noise. Additionally, Single Rooms don’t have minibars. Tan countertops and red tile decorate the classic bathrooms, which feature hairdryers and Hotel Giuliana toiletries. Some have jetted showers while others have shower/tub combos. Note, there's a pesky fee for Wi-Fi. 

Breakfast is included in a charming, if cramped space, and has coffee, pastries, fruit, yogurt, breads, and cereal; it receives good reviews. There's no full restaurant, but a 24/7 bar has Italian beer and wine available while a small, pretty balcony full of potted plants gives another cozy spot to sit. The front desk offers concierge services. Wi-Fi in the common areas and in the rooms has a daily fee and there is no on-site parking or business center. Additionally, both airport and train station transportation have fees.
