Less than 500 feet from
Trevi Fountain, Hotel Trevi is a mid-range property in a busy area full of tourist shops, restaurants, and bars.
The hotel completed renovations in 2015, and its 70 rooms have free Wi-Fi, minibars, and satellite TV channels. Breakfast
is served for a fee in a room with panoramic windows, but there’s no full
restaurant on-site. The hotel has an annex building housing its renovated Superior Rooms 160 feet from the main building. Guests may want to compare rates with Hotel
Fontana, another mid-range hotel in the neighborhood that offers free breakfast and is situated in a former monastery.
Scene
16th-century building with modern, minimalist interior
Located
on a cobblestone alley, the main building of Hotel Trevi is a former 16th-century palace, a charming
yellow and orange stone structure with lanterns, wrought-iron window grates, and dark shutters. Inside, the hotel is
surprisingly modern, thanks to renovations that were completed in mid-2015. Guests check in at a small wood-laminate front desk in front of a gray stone wall. Glossy metallic sculptures hang overhead, and the clean white and black walls, intermixed with wood-laminate, further the modern vibe. Brown leather couches line the walls of the lobby providing seating for guests. Magazines, a flat-screen TV, and free fruit-infused water provide other small creature comforts. A small elevator is
available to carry guests to their rooms, but the breakfast room can only be reached via the stairs; although it offers panoramic views of neighboring rooftops. Most guests are tourists, a mix of couples and families.
Location
In a busy area with plenty of shops and restaurants
The hotel is located less
than 500 feet from Trevi Fountain in a tourist-heavy part of the city with shops, restaurants, and bars
nearby. It’s a 10-minute walk to the nearest metro
station at Piazza Barberini, making the rest of the city easily accessible. The Spanish Steps are within a 10-minute walk, and the Colosseum is a
20-minute walk. It’s a 10- to 15-minute drive to Vatican City. Both Ciampino
Airport and Leonardo da Vinci Airport are about a half-hour drive.
Rooms
Modern rooms with minibars and free Wi-Fi
Rooms at Hotel Trevi are modern and streamlined with wood floors and
minimal decor, such as floor-length beige curtains and gray-and-black-striped bed runners atop white bedspreads. Some rooms have arches or odd-angled ceilings with rustic, exposed ceiling beams. Rooms are air-conditioned and have
TVs with satellite channels, safes, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are sleek with
stand-up showers, and rooms with double sinks are available. Superior Rooms are renovated and located in the annex building 160 feet (50 meters) away. Guests complain that not all rooms have windows. But some rooms get extra sunlight from furnished patios.
Features
Breakfast for a fee in room with panoramic views
Truly, the hotel's best feature is its location, less than a minute walk from Trevi Fountain. Aside from that, the hotel doesn't have many extra features, but it does serve breakfast in a room with panoramic windows, though it's not included in room rates. There's no full restaurant on-site, but limited room service is available. There’s
an Internet corner in the lobby with a computer and printer available for
guests’ use. And airport transfers can be arranged for a fee.
