The 104-room Regal Pacific Hotel is in Las Condes, the heart of Santiago’s commercial district. The ambiance of the hotel is refined, but visitors expecting a true luxury experience may be disappointed, as the decor throughout is dated. The large rooms are sophisticated (though in need of an update), and feature spacious living areas, coffee trays or wet bars, and lovely marble bathrooms, which are arguably the most luxurious part of the room. Some rooms have magnificent views of the Andes Mountains. Freebies include Wi-Fi, breakfast, and the hotel has two restaurants: La Fattoria Restaurant, known for its Mediterranean, Italian, and local dishes; and Queen's Piano Bar, serving light fare and cocktails.
Location
Located in heart of Las Condes, along the bustling thoroughfare of Apoquindo Avenue
Las Condes is the financial and commercial district of Santiago, and not surprisingly, its residents are affluent and fashionable. The most commercial area is by Apoquindo Avenue, which has been dubbed “Sanhattan,” a portmanteau of Santiago and Manhattan. The neighborhood is the home to two major shopping centers, the 245-store Alto Las Condes, and the North American-style Parque Arauco.Although the city has had a storied past, marked by battles over colonialism and freedom, present-day Santiago is a bustling, loud, ever-growing and ever-evolving metropolis populated with nearly seven million people. Aside from being the political and economic center of Chile, it is also fast becoming the country's hub for arts, entertainment, food and drink, and culture. The dynamic city is dotted with museums, theaters, bars, and different vibrant neighborhoods that cater to various crowds, such as the bohemian artists, culinary elite, and politicians. What makes this urban center especially unique is the fact that it's surrounded by the beautiful, glistening snow-capped Andes Mountains. Although Santiago has had a problem with smog and air pollution, it's still difficult not to be impressed by this stunning natural backdrop.- 33-minute drive to Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez Airport
