Bottom Line

ONE 15 Marina Club is a four-pearl hotel located within Sentosa Cove, a prime residential district on the island of Sentosa. The Club features 26 spacious rooms (hard to find in Singapore) that provide nice touches like sunken bathtubs and Nespresso machines, though general wear and tear can be an issue. With two pools, a full-service spa, fitness center, and kid-friendly extras like an arcade, there's no shortage of amenities here. The Club's location may not be great for international tourists, since it's far from the city center. However, travelers seeking short drives to Sentosa sights are in luck, and there are numerous dining options, cafes, and bars both on-site and nearby. Those who want easier access to golf courses and sites like Universal Studios should compare rates at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore.

ONE 15 Marina Club Singapore

Scene

Tranquil nautical-themed property with a laid-back vibe and waterfront setting

ONE 15 Marina Club doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you step into the breezy open-air lobby that overlooks the marina, you'll quickly get an idea of how tranquil this property really is. Nautical-themed furnishings and decor can be seen throughout the common spaces, but it's tastefully done and not at all over the top. The shades of blue, white, and taupe throughout keep the place looking fresh and bright, and it's easy to catch the laid-back vibe here because it's hardly ever crowded, despite its location right on the cove. Those that check-in here tend to be staycationing locals (a mix of families and couples) who want to get away from it all, as well as vessel owners and passengers that are passing by Singapore.

Location

By the marina on the quieter side of Sentosa Island, away from main attractions

The Club sits along the yacht- and boat-lined marina on the east side of Sentosa Island, away from the main Resorts World area and its popular attractions. However, getting to sites like Universal Studios and beaches such as Siloso and Palawan is a breeze. It won't take more than 30 minutes to do with the island's free bus services that pick up and drop off passengers at the Sentosa Cove Village stop, which is a five-minute stroll from the Club. The nearest MRT train station, HarbourFront, is on mainland Singapore (it also has a massive shopping mall attached to it), and if you'd rather take a taxi than the free shuttle rides provided by the Club, the journey takes about 10 minutes. Districts like Marina Bay, Chinatown, and City Hall can be reached in 15 to 20 minutes by car, and for shopping hotspots like Orchard Road and Bugis, it's a 25-minute drive. Depending on traffic, reaching Changi Airport can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 40 minutes by taxi.

Rooms

Contemporary and spacious rooms with nice extras; some with balconies

Like the rest of the property, the Club's 26 rooms feature nautical-themed touches, so expect lots of wave-like patterns and ocean-inspired works of art. There are three room types available, including Hillview, Marina, and the Monte Carlo Suites, and all are spacious, with sizes ranging from 441 to 1,722 square feet (41 to 160 square meters). All units have mini-fridges, hairdryers, safes, irons and ironing boards, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, Nespresso machines, free in-room Wi-Fi, and smart tablets with functions like light and temperature controls. The mustard-and-teal tiled bathrooms are roomy, with welcome additions like free toiletries, skylights, and sunken bathtubs (in addition to walk-in showers) plus wall-mounted 14-inch flat-screen TVs. Key differences between room categories include balconies (only the Marina rooms and suites have them) and sofas. The best, of course, look out over the water. There are also Xbox media players in the suites, plus separate living room areas, separated sections for each member of couples in the bathrooms, plus standalone bathtubs by floor-to-ceiling windows facing the marina.

Features

Six dining spots, two pools, spa, fitness center, arcade, and several event and meeting spaces

ONE 15 Marina Club has an abundance of features, despite only having 26 rooms overall. There are six dining and drinking spots on-site, including lobby cafe HELIOS93 and Cantonese cuisine specialist WOK 15 Kitchen. Latitude Bistro is where the buffet breakfast is served daily (it's included in rates), and Bar Nebula and the floating Boater's Bar are just outside. The latter are ideal for chilling out in the evenings.

Two pools are available: one for kids (though we have to point out that this is more of a wading area and doesn't look very impressive, and an infinity pool with cabanas. In addition, there's a zone fitted with a couple of semi-submerged tables and chairs, plus a pool bar serving drinks and light bites. The Club is also home to a full-service spa, which offers discounted rates for guests, and a fitness center that's equipped with weights, machines, and equipment like kettlebells. There are also facilities to keep the kids busy, including an arcade and an indoor and outdoor play area.

Bicycles (some come with attached child seats), electric scooters, and Segways are available for rent. Reception is not open 24 hours, but if you need to check-in late, just let the Club know in advance so they can make the necessary arrangements. Parking comes with fees and Wi-Fi is free. Several event and meeting spaces can be booked for weddings and corporate functions.
