Scene
Chic and stylish hotel with al fresco cafe in historic building
Hotel Cubo occupies Luckmann’s House (Luckmanova hiša), a heritage-protected exterior preserved in its original 1932 style. Formerly a ballet school, magazine offices, a famous cafe, and multi-apartment building, it was transformed into a small, modern hotel in 2011. The building is painted white with light-gray window shutters and sits on a charming corner. Interiors are stylish and subdued in a palette of beige and grays, with warm wood and soft overhead lighting. Small statues decorate windowsills and fresh flowers in vases are placed throughout. The outdoor bar space is a popular gathering place for guests, with views of the bustling streets and umbrella-shaded tables surrounded by leafy potted plants. This is a modern, elegant property with careful attention to detail in both service and decor. Most guests are couples, and some business travelers and families with older kids also occasionally stay here.
