Bottom Line

True to its namesake brand, the four-pearl Hilton West Palm Beach is crisp and bright with a business-centric vibe. It's attached to the Palm Beach County Convention Center and near CityPlace. Expect an extensive list of amenities: a resort-style pool, three restaurants, free airport shuttle, and 24,000 square feet of event space, make this one of the area’s most full-featured chain hotels. All 400 rooms feature 55-inch flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and USB outlets. Free Wi-Fi is available to Hilton loyalty members and it's free to sign up for the program. Suites upgrade to roomy floor plans with dining rooms and wet bars. The nickel-and-diming for breakfast and valet-only parking may turn some guests away, however. Hyatt Place West Palm Beach Downtown offers similar amenities -- albeit without the same panache -- for lower rates.

Hilton West Palm Beach

Scene

Crisp and modern chain hotel with a bustling executive vibe

The shiny, towering lobby is awash in glass, metal, polished tile flooring, and a million-dollar art collection. With a central business center, the low, steady beat of dance music, and the constant hustle of smartly dressed guests, the vibe reflects the lifestyle of a modern, on-the-go executive. Cathedral ceilings in every hallway and common area provide a sense of upscale grandeur. The convenient proximity to the convention center, CityPlace, and Palm Beach’s world-famous beaches attract a diverse mix of mostly business and some leisure travelers. No matter the season, the pool and restaurant crowds rarely thin out. But, the vibe is always reserved and relaxed, never rising above a lively hum.

Rooms

Bright and modern rooms with mini-fridges and large flat-screen TVs

Room decor is crisp and bright. Tasteful, transitional-style furniture, brushed metal-framed artwork, and tufted headboards push the aesthetic above typical. Entry-level Guest Rooms (one king bed or two queen beds) offer studio-style layouts with 350 square feet (33 square meters) of floor space. Suites upgrade to at least 650-square-foot (60-square-meter) floor plans with separate living and dining areas, plus optional half baths. Executive Floor Rooms add free Wi-Fi, more power outlets, and better views from the hotel’s upper floors. Every room features modern amenities including 55-inch flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and ample USB power outlets. Wi-Fi is only available to loyalty customers (free to sign up) or via paid daily plans. Balconies are not available in any category.

Bathrooms are modestly sized, but fit and finish is excellent. Textured wallpaper, backlit mirrors, and wide-tiled shower stalls all add touches of sophistication. Hairdryers and Peter Thomas Roth bath amenities are standard. Some suites add dual vanities and deep soaking tubs. Past guests have occasionally complained about maintenance issues in the rooms.

Features

A resort-like pool terrace, three restaurants, and plenty of meeting and conference space

The sheer size and number of amenities are surprising for a deceptively small, city center hotel. The large outdoor terrace is the centerpiece of the property. It's where guests will find a resort-like pool, an open-air bar with poolside drink and snack service, a hot tub, and a grassy play space with outdoor games. Ample lounge chairs and reservable cabanas dot the space.

The three restaurants offer distinct vibes. Galley is the most formal; it's a chic, indoor/outdoor dining space with a la carte dinner and custom cocktail service. Manor serves a la carte breakfast and lunch in a swanky indoor dining space or alfresco by the pool. For a grab-and-go experience, Provisions is the cafe with specialty coffee drinks, sandwiches, and pastries. A 24-hour pantry adjacent to the front desk sells more basic snacks, beverages, and essentials. Room service is available for a fee.

More than 24,000 square feet (2,230 square meters) of flexible, full-featured event and conference space is available with the largest meeting room topping out north of 13,000 square feet (1,208 square meters). The Palm Beach County Convention Center is next door and accessible by an enclosed walkway.

There is no spa, but the fitness room is spacious and bright with modern cardio and strength-training machines, free weights, and yoga equipment. Like in the rooms, Wi-Fi is free with the Hilton loyalty program. Only paid valet parking is provided with prices comparable to other area hotels.
