Situated away from the main road, the secluded Las Palmas Beachfront Villas has a relaxed vibe that manages to be both sophisticated and laid-back at the same time. The spacious open floor plan lobby grants stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, and leads out to two infinity pools and Playa Blanca via a rustic plank walkway. The Beach Club at Las Palmas features a handful of tables and tends to be busiest during meal times. There is a small social scene at the hotel with different theme nights: tequila tasting, taco nights, and barbecue grill night -- and a small bar with beach service throughout the day and evening. A small activities board is on display in the spacious lobby, letting travelers know about different theme nights or activities on offer. Guests are a mix of families and couples on vacation. 

Las Palmas Beachfront Villas is located down a quiet road at the edge of the small fishing village of Zihuatanejo. It's a convenient spot for access to the airport, which is a seven-minute drive, and is also situated beachfront to the white sands of Playa Blanca. Unfortunately, it's a 25-minute drive to the restaurants and shops of downtown Zihuatanejo, and a 30-minute drive to the beach clubs at the popular Playa La Ropa. The small resort town of Ixtapa is a 40-minute drive from the hotel and features Playa el Palmar. For golf enthusiasts, Campo de Golf is a 35-minute drive from the hotel. The Marina is a 40-minute drive for those who love boating. While taxis are easily available through the front desk at the hotel, travelers looking to explore the area should rent a car. 

Across all categories the massive rooms are sophisticated, stylish, and vibrant. Rooms range from studios to three-bedroom villas, each with individual decor and layouts. Colors tend toward white, mahogany, and gray; with pops of color in many rooms with accent pillows and fun wall art. The rooms feature vaulted ceilings, brightly colored abstract artwork, and a few animal sculptures. All rooms come with spacious full kitchens, separate sitting areas, and modern appliances. Expect to see coffeemakers, blenders, and dishwashers in all kitchens. Most rooms have flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi, though some rooms are intentionally unplugged. Bottled water is supplied, and the five gallons of fresh water in some rooms is a nice addition.

All bathrooms have stone tiling showers and sinks, rainfall showerheads, and lots of vanity space. Bathrooms are stocked with towels and toiletries. The outdoor standing showers are a nice extra. 

The highlight of all the rooms are the private dip pools and spacious balconies. Some of the lower level rooms walk right out to the white sands of Playa Blanca, while higher level rooms have stunning sunset views. Most balconies feature cushioned heavy wooden lounge chairs and tables. Some rooms have outdoor grills for barbecuing. 

As a boutique property, Las Palmas Beachfront Villas provides smaller versions of luxury resort amenities. Situated beachfront on the white sands of Playa Blanca, there are several palapas with heavy wooden lounge chairs. The hotel and beach are serviced by The Beach Club at Las Palmas, an open-air palapa restaurant situated on Playa Blanca beach. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, The Beach Club serves elegant grill fare fused with traditional Mexican dishes. Expect to see eggs, Mexican dishes, and sandwiches, as well as snacks of chips, nachos, and guacamole throughout the day. 

Two infinity pools face the Pacific Ocean and feature stunning sunset views. The main infinity pool is massive with a moderately-sized pool terrace, while the second pool is adequately sized with a smaller pool terrace and a few white cushioned lounge chairs. Wellness options are limited at the hotel, and some travelers might miss a fitness center. While there’s no on-site spa, services are available through the concierge, along with cooking classes, taxis, and activities. A small lending library and an updated activities board are featured in the lobby. There is plenty of free parking for guests to use. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort.
