Scene

Family-friendly historic hotel with inviting common rooms and a garden at its center

Comprised of several renovated historic buildings dating
back to the early 1800s clustered around a pretty garden courtyard, the
Provincetown Hotel at Gabriel’s has been hosting guests since 1979. The decor
throughout is contemporary country --wainscoted walls frame rooms decorated in wicker
furniture, with well-worn rugs, chairs bedecked in floral fabrics, and built-in
bookcases with board games and books ready to be borrowed. Guests are mainly couples on romantic getaways, though a few families stay here on occasion.

Location

Prime-time Ptown location, next to Pilgrim Monument Memorial Park

Situated behind Town Hall on Bradford Street, the
Provincetown Hotel makes a convenient home base as it’s one block away from
Commercial Street, Ptown’s main drag for restaurants, bars, and shops. Provincetown Art Association and Museum is a 12-minute walk away, and Pilgrim Monument is a short three-minute walk away. Provincetown Municipal Airport is an
eight-minute drive away, while the ferry pier is just a three-minute walk -- the
hotel offers free shuttle service to both.

Rooms

Chic and homey, with upscale amenities like fireplaces and jetted tubs

The 18 guest rooms are clustered around the hotel’s quiet courtyard,
with inviting decor akin to a friend’s tasteful country house; think: modern
floral fabrics, muted color palettes, fireplaces, and -- in some rooms -- private
decks.  While no two rooms are exactly
alike, all are comfortable, spacious and outfitted with mini-fridges, free Wi-Fi, microwaves, Keurig coffee machines, plush robes, and many have stoves. DVD players are also included -- handy for
viewing the hotel’s ultra-extensive DVD library in the reception area. Tan-tile bathrooms have luxury bath products from the Sense Collection by William Roam and most have jetted tubs. There
are also designated pet-friendly rooms for visitors who want to pack their
pooch, which include dog beds, organic treats, loaner leashes, and bowls for
food and water.

Features

Zen-like garden and full made-to-order breakfast

The hotel’s common Great Room encourages camaraderie, with
piles of board games, well-worn paperbacks, comfy sofas, and a fireplace for
cozying around. A daily, made-to-order breakfast is served in the morning,
while homemade cookies and refreshments are offered each afternoon. The garden
provides a peaceful spot during the day and in the evening, when wicker chairs
are pulled up around a fire pit and fairy lights illuminate the trees.
