Etrop Grange

Etrop Grange is a listed heritage building dating back to 1780 which has kept its original Georgian charm and is located in a quiet, country setting. The hotel is decorated in a traditional style, with wood paneling, chandeliers, and marble fireplaces in public spaces, comfy sofas in the lobby area, and navy-and-gold-patterned carpeting throughout. This isn't a new property, but it is cozy, and on nice days the windows and doors are opened allowing fresh air to circulate through the rooms and common spaces, emphasizing that restful country setting. The atmosphere here is one of a relaxed rural home, and there are antiques scattered around the hotel and bedrooms. The lobby, bar, and restaurant have been tastefully renovated during the past year, but some guest rooms have yet to be refurbished. Etrop Grange is popular with couples and business travelers coming from Manchester Airport, as well as wedding parties because of its attractive Old-World setting. 

Etrop Grange is located on a country road next to Manchester International Airport, just a four-minute walk away. The center of Manchester is 30 minutes away by train, and buses to the city center stop just outside the hotel. The hotel is ideal for travelers who have to catch early-morning flights, as there's very little else nearby. Painswick Park, which has a children's play area, sports fields, and a fishing pond, is one of the few attractions in walking distance, just two minutes away on foot. 

The rooms at Etrop Grange are decorated in a classic, country-home style which complements the traditional look of this heritage building. Standard decor includes cream-colored patterned wallpaper, drab striped carpeting, heavy floral drapes, and dark wood furniture. The renovated rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated in heather gray and white, some with four-poster beds, and have modern, luxurious bathrooms. However, the rooms which have not yet been refurbished have dated and worn furniture and show signs of wear and tear. All rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, tea- and coffee-making facilities, irons and ironing boards, and hairdryers. Standard bathrooms have shower/tub combos and basic toiletries. 

Etrop Grange offers its guests a free airport shuttle to Manchester Airport, and free parking is also available. The hotel has four meeting rooms on-site and the Etrop Suite, which can seat up to 200 people. The Grange Bar & Grill has a dining room overlooking a courtyard and The Library space for private meals for small groups. Traditional English breakfast is available for an extra fee.
