Renovated in 2007 to reflect the minimalist aesthetic of owner-architect Paris Liakos, the hotel pairs Greek Island whitewashed surfaces, exposed stone walls, and thatched ceilings with modern white slipcovered furniture and gleaming gold mosaic accent walls. This palette of gray, white, and gold contrasts with the startling blue of the sea and sky glimpsed from every door and window. Sneakered staff members dressed in head-to-toe white greet guests at the reception desk and carry trays of drinks to the open-air dining terrace overlooking the infinity pool. Typography creates a cheeky design element: Public restroom doors feature dictionary entries for Greek-to-English words like "metamorphosis" and "apocalypse," while metal sculptures spelling out "kiss" and "love" bookend a white stone fireplace. 

Cavo Tagoo is perched on a rocky hill on the outskirts of lively Mykonos Town, about a 20-minute walk to the town center, or a five-minute trip by free hotel shuttle. Guests can dive into the town's nonstop party scene or go for a more tranquil experience at the hotel. Mykonos' best beaches are located on the other side of the island, but are within a 15-minute drive. Mykonos Airport is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel, and the Mykonos Ferry Terminal is about a 25-minute drive away.
