For a Days Inn, this 133-room hotel has a lot of history: It used to be known as the Rock and Roll Days Inn, and had many famous bands and musicians coming through. It offers solid freebies -- Wi-Fi, breakfast, and gym passes -- and the rooms are clean and comfortable (if a little basic -- which is to be expected for the price). But the Lincoln Park location is far from most tourist sites.

The Days Inn Chicago, located in a historic 1920s building, was once known as the Rock and Roll Days Inn: Famous past guests include Kurt Cobain, Sheryl Crowe, Radiohead, the Dave Matthews Band, and the Goo Goo Dolls. What the hotel lacks in features, it tries to make up for with history and freebies: Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, free access to Bally’s Total Fitness, and a free continental breakfast.
Lincoln Park neighborhood, close to Wrigley Field
Located in the Lincoln Park area, the hotel is a short drive to the Lincoln Park Zoo and Wrigley Field (where the Cubs play). Major attractions like the Magnificent Mile, Museum of Contemporary Art, and Willis Tower are within a 15-minute drive.
